Falling Leaves and Forward PlanetsOctober’s dance brings us fully under Autumn’s spell. This October 2, retrograde planets turn forward into direct motion: Mercury & Pluto - the innermost & outermost orbiting planets. What new forward-facing motion is ready to emerge from you? As the inward spiraling shifts of Autumn deepen, find out what cycle in your life is priming to shift, make progress, and experience a new light. Mercury goes Direct 10/2/22 Mercury has been in retrograde since September 9th and will have its last day of Retrograde, for this cycle, on October 1st. These last three weeks of retrograde have provided a supportive time for returning and rehashing the intentions and plans we have in motion from August 21st until now. It has been an opportune time to review, reprocess, and integrate the current events in your life. Mercury Retrogrades are periods where it’s more optimal to spend time recollecting, reflecting, and metabolizing your recent experiences versus charging forth in your life and making decisions, starting new things, or making big purchases. With Mercury out of retrograde, some of the intentions and plans you have moving to navigate your life could come up for another round of working out. If you find this to be true, trust the process. When Mercury is retrograde, we may not be thinking of all the aspects before making decisions on things. What situations, plans, and projects were you working with in your life on or around August 21st? As Mercury is moving forward starting on October 2nd, it will feel like you finally have access to the necessary clarity to more fully mentally process and resolve this cycle of manifestation. It will also become a better decision-making time, not having the usual Mercury Retrograde SNAFU’s. Keep in mind that Mercury will be in its shadow until October 17th; although now moving with direct motion, you may still be reworking things up until this point. Getting out of its shadow signifies that Mercury will be back to the sign and degree in direction motion it was at when it last retrograded. Pluto goes direct 10/8/22 I am sharing this tidal change of Pluto going direct with you because Pluto is the great transformer and has significant effects nationally, globally, and personally. This Pluto shift is occurring at the time of The United States (based on its national birth time in 1776) experiencing its first Pluto return; you can read about it here. This Pluto return began with America in a deep identity crisis and right when Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this year. The pandemic rolls on and is continuously in flux, and our lives have changed. All big topics, and now that Pluto is moving forward from October 8th through April 2023, there will be a stronger sense of urgency and push to move these transformations into new places over the next six months. Think about your own life and what overarching changes you are noticing. What transformations are taking shape in your life this year? Pluto can feel like a death and birth experience urging you to let go of past things that no longer serve you. The process takes time and can feel slow. Now that Pluto is moving direct, you may notice these changes will steadily begin to move towards getting to the other side of the transformations you’ve seen happening all year. Sometimes this letting go and changing passage is welcoming, and other times it is painful, depending on the circumstances and your willingness to surrender to the change. Either way, on the other side, it is the birth of something new that you wouldn’t have been able to have, had you not gone through all the changes asked of you. I encourage you to be awake to Pluto’s energy of dismantling, transformation, and rebirth over the next six months when you notice all the events happening personally, nationally, and globally. How can you willingly seek to align yourself with the new patterns emerging in the powerful tidal wake? Full Moon in Aries 10/9/22 1:55 PM PDT This month's Full Moon is in Aries on October 9th. Full Moons occur each month when the Sun and Moon reach opposite signs of the Zodiac, as the Moon aligns in its monthly position 180° from the Sun, becoming fully illuminated. The Libra Sun with the Aries Moon calls your attention towards tuning into aspects of Self and how it manifests in relationships with others. Do you tend to your needs and continue to follow your heart and instincts when others go in a different direction? How well are you trailblazing your path, being a brave human on your soul’s journey? Do you have good boundaries with others from a place of self-care and nourishment? How best can you be authentically open to another’s energy and well rooted in yourself? The moon influences our emotional body. If you’re feeling more emotional during this Full Moon time, including the days leading up to it and the days just after, I recommend tuning into the above-mentioned aspects. Do some self-exploration, journal the answers to the questions above, and explore actions you can take to ensure you nourish yourself along the path. Mars squares Neptune 10/4/22 - 10/21//22 Mars will be in a conflictual square aspect with Neptune. Your ego drives can become challenged by a need to follow your soul's calling. In other words, from the 4th through the 21st, you might not have the energy to check off all the to-dos. Instead, you may sense that you would do things that aren’t necessarily productive but that you enjoy. There’s a potential struggle here. Try not to get confused by what you think you should be doing and what you feel like doing if they are at different camps. To move out of this internal conflict, find a way to allow both. Your playful soul can still be creative and flowy as you complete your day’s tasks. How can you be less disciplined and more in rhythm with doing what you enjoy? Venus opposes Chiron 10/10/22 - 10/12/22 Venus, the planet that rules relationships, beauty, and love, is opposing Chiron, the wounded healer, from Oct 10th through the 12th. There is a potential to open up more awareness around what needs healing in how you show up in your relationship(s). With the opposition, you can see more clearly what aspects may be getting in the way of feeling wholeness in your partnership(s) with an opportunity for personal growth through working on repairing what’s there. If this insight speaks to you, call yourself to pay close attention during this transit on the dates listed. See what emerges within yourself in your patterns of relating that brings you fresh insight into perhaps unconscious ways of being in relationships that need healing. The awareness you gain while Venus is opposing Chiron will be helpful to work through when Venus comes into an easy-flowing trine with Saturn on the 13th. Venus Trines Saturn 10/13/22 - 10/15/22 Just after Venus opposes Chiron and supports the opening up of relationship wounds in need of healing, Venus will make a positive Trine aspect with Saturn on the 13th through the 15th, allowing for a feeling of balance and stabilization in your relationship(s). It will seem more accessible to work on relationship issues requiring your attention, and you may feel in flow with the things that need healing. Saturn gets you in touch with the practical side of things and helps you focus on coming up with realistic solutions. This trine of Venus and Saturn brings a good moment encouraging an agreeable opportunity for anchoring and grounding the “housekeeping” matters of relationships. ~ With astrology, the most helpful advice is always individual and personalized based on your personal astrology birth chart and life situations. Balancing the ScalesAs we move towards mid-September, the Autumnal Equinox arrives. Summer's long warm days transform into the cooler Fall season. As the Sun enters Libra on Autumn Equinox, this is a profound time to weigh out the balance of our lives and reflect on what needs letting go of versus what needs refinement. Mercury Retrograde Continues... Mercury began retrograding on Sept 9th and will continue over the next few weeks through Oct 1st. It’s a good time to pause and notice what type of “unfinished business” has accumulated in your life. Now through Oct 1st would be a supportive time to bring some of these things to completion. Refer to my previous blog below (Sept 1st - 15th) for supportive learning about Mercury Retrograde and how to best make use of this time. Venus Square Mars 9/16 - 9/19 Both Venus and Mars are our relationship planets. When these two planets are in a challenging square aspect with each other, more conflicts can arise. If you find this happening during the 16th through the 19th, then it’s a good time to explore internal conflicts within yourself. Square aspects can bring into the light of awareness unconscious blocks we are holding inside ourselves. One way this often occurs is that the square transit can trigger us to manifest our internal conflict in relationships outside ourselves, where we can see them bigger, louder, and messier than on the inside. We may then be tempted to work out our inner conflicts in an externalized relationship. Truly, if we can get to what’s happening within us, we have a better chance of resolving these internal issues creating a better path to work out what shows up with others or in our intimate relationships. If Things get triggered, hot, and bothered under this aspect, it’s good to take some time to look within and get some support from allies and loving truth speakers who you trust to help find emotional clarity to explore what needs understanding. Mars Sextile Chiron 9/17 - 9/22 Mars’s energy comes into a positive and stimulating aspect with Chiron, the “wounded healer,” from the 17th through the 22nd. When Mars makes an aspect with other planets, it urges you to take action towards the energy of the planet it is an aspect with. Mars with Chiron can activate you towards wanting to heal an old pattern. Chiron is in Aries, reminding you that no matter who you are traveling along with in your life, you also have your sole journey to tend to. During these dates in September, you may come in more contact with how well you’re living in alignment with your path and purpose vs. feeling pulled by the people around you. It’s a supportive time to shift out of patterns that keep you from living from your sovereignty. When you think about your life, do you feel like you’re on your path? If not, what shifts can you make to ensure you’re living in alignment with yourself? What patterns need “healing”? Fall Equinox Sun enters Libra 6:04 PM 9/22/22 When the Sun enters Libra on the 22nd, it marks the first day of Autumn, the Fall Equinox. Daytime and Nighttime are equal on this day. It’s the halfway point between Summer Solstice (the longest day) and Winter Solstice (the shortest day). The Sun’s trajectory across the ecliptic shifts towards the Southern hemisphere. Fall days with less daylight start to come in and grow shorter until we reach the Winter Solstice. The Autumnal pivot to increasingly shorter days and longer nights brings nature to the culmination of seasonal harvests. Plants and trees begin to direct their energy inward to nourish their roots and seeds. We, too, follow these patterns of nature; you may notice you feel the sense of wanting to move into a more internal nesting mode. Depending on the climate you live in, this period can be met with a natural cycle of grief as we shift away from the abundant energy, warmth, and light of the summer and move towards the year's descent into Autumn and Winter. As Summer moves into Fall, if you notice sadness showing up without any particular personal loss or clear reason, it’s a good time to shift your perspective to the natural cycles of the year and notice how all this letting go is part of the rhythm of life. Noticing grief or sadness during this time can point to unprocessed emotions that may need to be felt and moved through. As natural energies shift inwards, Fall tends to be when we have more access to internal grief, new or old. It’s a good time to acknowledge what’s been living inside you so you can begin a natural process of feeling the feelings to release them and lighten your load as we move towards winter. New Moon Libra 9/25 2:54 PM PDT Just days after the Autumn Equinox, as the Sun moves into Libra, the Moon will join up with the Sun creating a Libra New Moon on the 25th. Libra energy opens up the qualities of sharing and being in cooperation with others and loved ones. When both the Sun and the Moon come together in the sign of Libra, it may open your emotional being towards wanting to connect with others. Libra energy also seeks to balance “the scales”, as the image of Libra depicts. Ask yourself: What are you in need of balancing out in your life? Giving yourself and/or your time to others vs. having dedicated time for yourself? Work vs. home commitments? Leisurely time vs. scheduled activities? The Moon reflects through our emotional body ~ what’s out of balance may stir you up more during the New Moon time, take some time to notice your emotional needs. What areas of life have things gotten out of hand for you? New Moons create a good monthly reset point. Under this Libra New Moon, I recommend taking some sacred space and noticing how the scales are tipped in any particular area of your life. Make a list and set intentions, including steps to support the balance. During the next 29 days, until the next New Moon, continue to follow through with actions to manifest those intentions! Mars Trine Saturn 9/23 - 9/27 Mars and Saturn influence each other's energy in a supportive Trine aspect from the 23rd through the 27th. Your physical energy during this time can strengthen and make you feel more grounded and balanced, you may have a stronger ability to focus on the things you need to get done. I recommend utilizing this time to work on the tedious things you may have been avoiding that require dedicated concentration. This is a time you may have more success in completing them. In the days leading up to the 23rd, take inventory of what things you have been putting off and make a point from the 23rd-27th to follow through on these tasks. Mercury will still be in retrograde, which can align well with finishing up old projects lingering out there, taking up psychic space in your mind. Embrace SeptemberAs we embrace September's arrival, there can be a natural feeling of release and letting go in the transition towards Autumn. Just as we arose with the tides of Spring and Summer, we now begin to spiral inward with the arrival of earlier evenings and cooler airs. Every year, this time includes the Pisces Full Moon, an energy that helps us let go and surrender to the beauty in the flow of natural cycles. The planetary arrangement in this first week of the month supports you in maintaining an upbeat approach. You may find this helpful in the presence of the natural melancholy that often accompanies the shift towards the Fall and Winter. Mars sextile Jupiter 9/1/22 - 9/5/22 This first week of September offers an abundance of energy with Mars and Jupiter in positive aspects with each other. Mars activates you to take action, and Jupiter can open you to move towards more growth and expansion in your life. With these two planets combined, you may feel stimulated to accomplish a lot during the 1st - 5th. Early September is also a supportive time to take that next step with something you’ve wanted to create or build. As autumn approaches and another school year is starting for many, there can be a natural feeling of wanting to get “back to business,” especially if the previous months had you engaging in plenty of summer activities, adventures, and travel. One important thing to notice during this first week is if you start to have too many irons burning in the fire regarding the things you want to accomplish, you may risk scattering your energy too much. Jupiter and Mars can also stimulate you into overdoing it. I recommend focusing on one or two things calling your attention and recognizing the higher success rate you’ll have with putting your effort towards them. If you have a business, this is an excellent week to promote growth. Mercury Oppose Jupiter 9/1/22 - 1/8/22 While Mars and Jupiter are grooving together, Mercury will also oppose Jupiter this first week of September, bringing a more expanded mental perspective to the things you’re putting your energy on. Mercury influences our minds, and Jupiter brings more optimism and the ability to see the bigger picture. There is less focus on the details, which can offer a level of thinking beyond obstacles and seeing the positive outcomes of what you are creating/building this week and the more essential things you are working on in your life. Mercury is slowing down before it heads into retrograde on September 9th. In its slower movement, Mercury is hanging in opposition with Jupiter for a longer than usual time, offering more time to open into wide and optimistic mental perspectives. Mercury Retrograde in Libra 9/9/22 - 10/1/22 Mercury is going retrograde from September 9th until Oct 1st. When Mercury, although rarely observable, is in retrograde, it appears to be moving backward in the sky from Earth’s vantage point for three weeks. During this time, people often find more challenges and issues with communications, electronics, travel, etc. You may find getting from point A to point B takes longer, or there’s more back-and-forth communication before things become clear. I see Mercury retrograde as an offering to surrender, trusting things will work out in the end. What seemed like a detour can bring you to something delightful you wouldn’t have been able to experience otherwise. Let go and allow an alternate way of “getting there” to manifest. Mercury retrograde has gained more awareness in our collective cultural conversations. The most common theme is recognizing a tendency for communications and technology to go haywire. I find what is alive regarding Mercury retrograde is holding an awareness that the planetary energy that governs thought and communication is in “rewind” mode for three weeks. Mercury is going back over the terrain of our recent weeks. It’s an excellent opportunity to review, reprocess, and integrate current events in your life. It’s a time for recollecting, reflecting, and metabolizing your recent experiences. When we avoid this opportunity and try to conduct our affairs by charging ahead as if Mercury were moving with a direct forward motion, communication and thinking go haywire and run wonky. When we allow the retrograde period as an opportunity to welcome a retreat into integration, we can take the opportunity to recalibrate ourselves and move in harmony with the nature of this time. Mercury in Libra can direct our attention towards communications in relationships and partnerships. It’s also a supportive time to finish up old projects taking up psychic space. Spend time with these activities during these next three weeks, and you will find ease in completing them. Clear out closets, garages, workspaces, donate items, etc. Mercury rules our minds, and when you clear out the physical clutter, you are also helping clear your mental clutter. When Mercury goes direct again on Oct 2nd, you can feel mentally refreshed if you take advantage of the Mercury retrograde period, rewind, review, and clear out. Full Moon in Pisces 9/10/22 2:59 AM PDT On September 10th, we have a Full Moon in Pisces. Physically, Full moons occur when the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the sky, and the Sun can reflect its whole light onto the Moon. Energetically, the moon connects to your emotional body, which helps us understand why we feel more around Full Moons. Our emotions are in their most illuminated state. Pisces is a water sign (along with Cancer and Scorpio) and can open you up to feeling even more sensitive, emotionally and psychically. You may notice that you’re more affected by the energy of the people around you under the Full Moon, including the days leading up to and after it. Pisces can also hold more compassion and want to show up and do what they can to help others, which can sometimes lead to self-sacrifice for the benefit of another. It is helpful to make sure this action also includes self-care, or it can tip the scales toward feeling like a victim in these situations over time. From the 8th through the 10th, I recommend observing your emotional and energetic boundaries. Notice if you’re over-sacrificing your self-care and impacting your well-being. If you find this true, create shifts to balance this dynamic so you can continue taking care of your needs. Pisces also brings creative expression through dance, art, music, etc. It’s a good moon time to tap into your creative juices and see what kind of artful masterpiece you can download through your senses and put into form. Late Summer's Venus ActivationAs with the beginning of the month, these last couple of weeks in August continue to bring energy and focus towards your intimate partnerships and relationships. Venus (the planet that influences love and relationship) is making a series of aspects with several planets. The theme of focusing on relationships builds over this time. As you read on, there are three aspects Venus makes during the last weeks in August that offer you a journey of progression to create more aliveness in your relationship. This late summer Venus activation can help deepen your intimate partnership and also the relationship you have with yourself. Are you wanting more spark? Are you in need of working through issues with each other that have been on the rise this summer? Doing the relationship work can open up the energy for renewal, connection, and excitement you may have been wanting. This energy also coincides with opening you up for more creative expression coming in and out of you in all kinds of ways, regardless of your relationship status. Again, you can also read this astrology forecast from the perspective of your relationship with yourself. Venus Trine Jupiter August 16th - 19th Taken together, Venus and Jupiter are referred to by astrologers as the ‘Benifics’; they are held as agents for bringing blessings and positive energy into your life. As bringers of beneficial planetary influences, when they are at play, you can often experience more optimism, opportunity, and good things coming your way. During the 16th through the 19th, as Jupiter and Venus are making a positive trine aspect with each other, their planetary energies flow well together to create optimal scenarios for many of the experiences and interactions arising in your life. With Venus’s influences, it is an opportune time for cultivating open-hearted, optimistic connections with loved ones and friends. It can also help you tune into more positive ways to work on relationship issues if you have things that require sorting out in this area of your life. Are you feeling unclear on what needs attention? If you're needing help knowing, then take a moment and go back to almost a month ago. The time in late July, especially on the 25th, may have activated things in your relationship that need addressing. Venus and Jupiter were in a challenging square aspect with each other and whatever might have been going on, may have even felt a little blown out of proportion with Jupiter’s expansive energy influence and harder to move through. Now, with the current positive Venus Trine Jupiter aspect, there is a uniquely supportive time to address, transform and elevate the issues that have felt like an obstacle. The Venus ~ Jupiter Trine can help you feel more expansive and hopeful about working through knotty interpersonal material. With access to a feeling of play and the possibility this current planetary transit is offering, there’s an opportunity to broaden your perspective and see the bigger picture. It may feel easier to get out of whatever dynamics have created the energies that may be pulling you and your partnership down. Utilizing this energy during the 16th - 19th to help you reach new horizons in your relations will prepare you for the last week of August when Venus makes more challenging aspects with both Uranus and Saturn. Read on! Venus Square Uranus August 24th - 29th When Venus and Uranus make a square aspect, they are positioned at a 90-degree angle to each other in the sky. A feeling of needing fuller freedom of self-expression in your relationship can come into focus. The square aspect is understood to create tension or conflict. However, this conflict is likely to be within yourself. Uranus helps you break free from what holds you back, from people to situations to modes of habitual thoughts or behaviors that keep you stuck in unhealthy patterns. With the square aspect from Venus, however, the truer exploration may be self-inquiry and see if YOU are holding you back when it comes to being authentic, especially in your relationship. Some questions to ask: Do you openly and freely express yourself and your needs? Are you feeling free to be YOU in your relationship? How are YOU holding yourself back in these ways? Is the person you’re with not a good match, but you’re staying in it anyways? Are you feeling bored in your relationship? What can you do to be more fully and freely yourself? It’s common to think we need to leave something or someone because we’re unable to be who we want to be or feel the excitement we want to be feeling, but is this always true? Maybe look inside yourself and explore if you are bringing your unique and creative self fully and authentically into your relationship. If not, see how or why you hold yourself back and use this opportunity during the 24th - 29th period to explore, open, and even perhaps resolve and break free from the conflict inside yourself. How can you create ways to express from a place of who you naturally are? This internal processing and releasing of yourself from whatever stuck patterns you feel inside of you will help you in the last days of August when Venus and Saturn come to oppose each other in the sky. Read below! Venus opposes Saturn August 27th - 31st When Venus and Saturn oppose each other from the 27th through the 29th, this can bring productive focus or even a make-it-or-break-it feeling around the challenging dynamics or situations you have been focusing on in your relationships. When Saturn is involved with Venus, it’s time to get real, practical, and grounded with any issues you’re having with each other. It is also good to know that Saturn can make things feel harder and heavier than they are. Be aware of this if you are working through situations coming up in your relationship at the end of August. There is a greater seriousness with Saturn that can help you show up and want to do the work it takes to get to the next place. Take a measure of kindness with yourself and others. Try not to be too hard on yourself, your partner, or the other people or forces at play in whatever challenging situations come up. Be focused and intentional, and bring that personal agency lovingly. New Moon Virgo 8/27/22 1:17 AM New Moons create a monthly reset point, a new beginning of a 29-day cycle. The New Moon in Virgo on the 27th can open the energy around the need to plan, organize, and create more structure in your life, which can feel nourishing to your emotional body as the summer season is winding down. The Virgo New Moon comes at this same time every year and offers a feeling of needing to reign in the wild energies of the previous months and settle more as Autumn approaches. If you have kids, this aligns well with the “back-to-school” routine and flow. This year the Virgo New Moon coincides with the Venus/Saturn opposition described above. All the grounded focus on relationship goals set in motion here are given greater emotional depth with a need to bring in practical solutions. Virgo is also known to have perfectionist qualities as there’s an extra awareness of how things can be better. In this examination, one can become more critical of the things that don’t seem right to them. Under this new moon, this energy may become more emphasized in you. Given that the moon rules your emotional body, the perfectionist/criticizing energy may show up and affect your emotional wellbeing. I recommend self-exploration and seeing what things, situations, and people in your life you find yourself being critical of, even if it is towards yourself. In this awareness, how can you shift towards more openness and flexibility in your thinking towards whatever you discover? Get real with what you feel you want to change, and as you continue this work, take care to lean forward with love, kindness, and willingness to work in harmony with all that exists in your life. Based on the planetary energies of this month, each of these weeks of August takes you through a relationship journey, whether you are in one or not. Towards the end of the month, you may finally feel more clarity about which direction you are going with each other. Are you working it out? Making new commitments to each other? Are you feeling the need to end things? Saturn is still in retrograde until October 23rd, so it may not be entirely settled one way or another right now, but you’ll have more clarity on what needs to happen. Book an astrology reading and find out how the summer and year ahead is looking for you! Welcome to August! In these complex times, I hope you're finding the joys in all the delight and changes this season of warmth brings. As I mentioned in June, Saturn is in retrograde all summer. Therefore, planning may seem more challenging or slow. Saturn brings grounding and thoughtfulness, and in retrograde, Saturn’s influence can send the tending of practical matters in a downright morass of slow molasses. So, you might find yourself encountering obstacles as you make summer plans. If this is true for you, I recommend surrendering and allowing the summer to manifest the way it is. Trust the flow of how it is all working out! These next couple of weeks highlight relationships and potential breakthroughs with summer planning. Mars conjunct Uranus 8/1/22 - 8/6/22 Mars, the planet that stimulates you to take action and make a move on things, is joining its energy up with Uranus. Uranus urges you to break out of old patterns. When Uranus is at play, things can change suddenly and erratically, helping you become free from something holding you back. In the first week of August, you may get more involved in spur-of-the-moment activities or feel strongly about going on your own with something. If you’re feeling held back by others or possibly your partner, you may need to claim some freedom. The first week of August is a good time for tapping into your unique being and seeing what fresh ideas come your way on how you want to approach your day or any planning. Venus Sextile Uranus + Venus Sextile Mars 8/1 - 8/6 The first week of August may also stimulate a desire to create more beauty in your life and can bring relationships into focus. If you’re in a relationship, you may want to find ways to freshen things up and make your time together more exciting, if needed. You may suddenly wake up feeling like you want to spark up things and create new energy together if you’re stuck in the same old routines. If you’re not in a relationship and are seeking one, the beginning of August is a supportive time to get out there and meet new people. If out of the blue, you receive an invitation to a social event or gathering, I encourage you to go. The energy is open for meeting new people. Mars Square Saturn 8/7 - 8/13 In the second week of August, your energy may start to feel slow, especially on the 7th. If the summer has been quite active and you’ve found yourself feeling scattered, this would be a good time to pause and regroup. Saturn can slow down the action-oriented energy of Mars and allow for more time for structuring your approach. If you force things too hard, you may experience obstacles or feel your energy is blocked. If this happens, then it’s a signal to slow down and re-evaluate how you’re doing things. Venus opposes Pluto 8/8 - 8/11 During the 8th through the 11th, relationships continue to be the focus. With Venus (love, beauty, relationship) and Pluto (internal powers of transformation) in opposition, there is a calling to bring up to the surface issues that require addressing. If you have been avoiding bringing up something with your partner(s), this is a time when it just must come up. The more you try to ignore it, the harder it may get. When Venus opposes Pluto, it’s a time to have a deeper process in your relationships and see what things need to shift with each other. I recommend diving in with whatever might be coming up and allowing for the depths of transformation to come through with whatever needs addressing. Full Moon in Aquarius 8/11 6:36 PM PDT Full Moons occur when the Sun and the Moon are in opposition. The Moon rules our emotional bodies and needs for nurturing. As the Sun’s light reflects on the Moon, we see the Moon and our emotions in all its full glory! Aquarius energy opens you to express your uniqueness without all the ego attachment to what others may think. Aquarians are known to go to the beat of their drum. Under this full Moon in Aquarius, tune into the parts of yourself in need of free expression. Recognize that allowing this aspect of yourself to come out and play can bring you into greater self-connection and can feel nourishing. Remember, as you move into expressing yourself freely, it can inspire others to do the same! Mercury will soon be out of its shadow, allowing the story of life to move forward. Sun Trine Saturn Sun square Neptune June 15th - 18th The Sun is making simultaneous aspects: a trine with Saturn and a square with Neptune. This is an interesting set of planetary dynamics with the Sun as Saturn and Neptune couldn’t be more opposite in their expression. Saturn is about living a sustainable earthly life, based on matters of physical reality. It’s about creating boundaries and structure: the job we work, the money we make, the house we live in, the family we take care of, and the food we eat. Neptune connects us to the matters of our soul and wants to dissolve the boundaries that Saturn sets up so we can connect to the One and our place in the universe. With Neptune’s influence, we sense the unseen, feel the energies around us and possibly even merge with those energies … ranging from other people’s emotions and intentions, the feelings of animals, and even the energies of natural landscapes, songs, paintings, neighborhoods can be intuited and more deeply felt under Neptune’s influence. When the Sun makes a difficult square to Neptune it can open you up to feeling more sensitive and easily tuning into the energies of others. The challenge becomes having a hard time with what’s yours and others (the boundaries) and or not taking on what you’re sensing from others as your own. Fortunately, the opportune trine to Saturn that the Sun is also making at the same time can help balance things. If you find yourself feeling over-sensitive to others and or the environment around you Saturn can add a level of groundedness and stability that helps keep the boundaries clear between you and others. The best way to handle this transit on the dates listed above is to notice your personal space, physical and energetic, and make sure you’re not being pulled around by others or their energy. Saturn’s influence can help you become more conscious of this and help re-direct yourself to your own time-space reality and allow you to get back on track with your own path, to-do’s,, and practical matters of the week. June 19th Mercury is out of its post-retrograde shadow Mercury stopped retrograding and went direct on June 3rd and has been in its “shadow” for the past 2 weeks. On June 19th, Mercury will have reached the point it was amongst the fixed stars in the sky before retrograding on May 10th and will be out of its shadow. While Mercury was retrograding, it traced its orbital path all the way to where it was on April 30th. Therefore, this stretch of time from April 30th until June 19th was a time for reflection and re-working your inner process; this period likely saw you not feeling much ease making progress in things requiring your mental planning and action. Therefore, you may have been revisiting the same things you’ve been working on since April 30th. Now that Mercury is out of this shadow period, the direct energy lets you move on and start to feel like you can put your mind towards forwarding momentum and getting things done. June 21st Summer Solstice Sun enters Cancer Venus trines Pluto Welcome to the first day of Summer! The Summer Solstice is marked by the Sun entering Cancer as it reaches its highest point in the Northern Hemisphere, making it the longest day of light for the year. Also on this day, Venus is making a positive trine aspect to Pluto, which can add a level of desire to connect with others and enjoy social engagements. Open your heart and let the energies of the first day of Summer fill your cup! June 28th New Moon in Cancer Sun square Jupiter (until the 30th) Venus sextile Jupiter (until the 30th) The month ends with New moon energy and big Jupiter energy at the same time. The New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon come together in the same sign and degree, creating a monthly reset point and energy of a new beginning. This New Moon in Cancer connects you more to your emotional and sensitive aspects of yourself. Cancer can also awaken your intuition and has you navigating your decisions through your feeling body. Therefore, allow this New Moon energy to get you in touch with how you “feel” about the things you’re doing in your life and the decisions you’re making. Notice if you are doing things that logically make sense, but your gut feelings tell you something different. This is your intuition letting you know that what seems right, might not be the right thing for you. Take some time under the New Moon and explore this inside yourself. Also, occurring on this day, and active for a couple of days we have both the Sun and Venus making aspects with Jupiter. This can create optimistic feelings throughout your day and increase the positive feelings towards other people in your life, which can certainly help support any sensitive emotions coming up around the New Moon. Alternatively, sometimes rather than adding a positive spin, Jupiter’s expansive energy can make the difficult things feel magnified, seeming even bigger than they are. Be on the lookout for that possibility. If that occurs it’s a powerful opportunity to identify and take steps to work on and clear those difficulties that appear magnified. Otherwise, if you have been having a hard time tapping into abundance lately, this is a good time to shift that energy. Jupiter opens up the possibilities and helps you witness and move your intentions towards growing more and greater positive outcomes with the efforts you’re making in your life. Turn! The astrological energies of June are reminding me of the wise words of Ecclesiastes as they were set so sweetly to song, "Turn! Turn! Turn!" by The Byrds. We have one planet (Mercury) coming out of retrograde while another planet (Saturn) is going into retrograde. "There is a season (turn, turn, turn) ... a time to heal, a time to laugh, a time to weep, ... a time to build up and a time to breakdown, a time to dance, a time to mourn..." June 3rd ~ Mercury goes Direct June 20th ~ Mercury moves out of its shadow Mercury begins its direct motion on June 3rd after being in retrograde since May 10th. If communications have been off and/or there have been disruptions in your usual flow during the last 3 weeks, things will more than likely become more straightforward and clearer as Mercury picks up speed in direct motion in the coming days and weeks. Mercury retrograde is never the ideal time for pushing forward in life. I hope you’ve been able to take advantage of this past 3 week time period by slowing down, finishing up old projects, and reflecting on what’s been most alive in your life in the previous weeks. Keep in mind that when Mercury goes direct, its motion across the sky will progress with SLOWER movement forward in the first several days. Therefore, your mental energy, which Mercury influences, may still feel sluggish from June 3rd through the 12th. Another aspect to be aware of is that Mercury will still be “in its shadow” until June 20th, which is when it finally reaches the same location in the sky among the fixed stars that it occupied before going retrograde. This further emphasizes the need to continue to be gentle with your mental energy and your capacity to make large pushes in your life during the time leading up to June 20th. June 3rd - 13th ~ Mercury Trines Pluto As Mercury is now moving forward again, it comes into a positive trine aspect with Pluto. This opens up space for deeper conversations with others as well as provoking deeper thoughts and feelings within yourself. The trine aspect allows for ease of flow when it comes to processing the deeper thoughts that are coming through you. It’s a good time for self-exploration and processing things and situations that have been lingering under the surface, needing attention. To further explore this … take a journey back into recent times when Pluto and Mercury came into this same trine aspect with each other: April 27th - 29th, just before Mercury went retrograde, and then again on May 24th- 26th. Think back to both these time periods (look at your calendar, journal, or photos) and see if you can remember what was happening in your outer life and what was emerging in your psyche. Reflect on this and see if you can notice themes that were present in those previous periods that still require more processing. June 3rd - 13th will give you a third opportunity to open and possibly fully process these particular aspects of your life. This is a powerful time for processing through, speaking, and sharing the deeper material emerging within your psyche that wants to be known, metabolized, and integrated. June 4th ~ Saturn goes Retrograde Until Oct 24th Beginning at the same period as the trine with Pluto (above), and just as Mercury gets out of retrograde, Saturn will be going retrograde and will continue tracing its path backward in the sky for the next 4+ months. During this time your energy for structure and organization might feel a little heavier and slowed down in its expression. The summer season is an interesting time indeed for having a Saturn retrograde. It may be that some projects that need attention have to be allowed the space to be moved more slowly on or set down for now. It might be important to just let some things BE for a period. It’s possible that you feel less energy for planning summer activities and vacations than you’re used to, and that’s okay! The structures you have been creating in your life could feel like they are beginning to take longer to evolve than you’ve anticipated as you move further into June and the summer months. Home projects, life planning, job shifts, and or ways to bring in more income may all slow down. Saturn is the energy force that gets you working hard at building supportive structures in your life. Saturn's influence normally slows the energy down and allows time to focus, ground, and manifest what is important. In retrograde, however, this might feel impeded or slowed down. If starting in early June, you’re feeling this retrograde Saturn influence working on you then I recommend giving yourself the grace of how long it might take you to accomplish things. You may find there’s wisdom in enjoying some summer ease and picking up the pace Mid-Autumn when Saturn goes direct. June 10th - 13th ~ Venus Conjunct Uranus Venus and Uranus will be joining their energies on the 10th through the 13th, emphasizing creative ways to bring more beauty, fun, and social connections into your life. You may get spontaneous invites from friends or randomly bring a new piece of art home that represents your unique and creative side. This energy can also reinvigorate a relationship where one or all parties express needing more excitement if there’s a feeling of boredom with the usual habits you all have gotten into. Have some fun over these days by allowing some spontaneous, novel delights to renew you. June 12th - 17th ~ Mars Conjunct Chiron On June 12th, midway through Venus’s dance with Uranus (above), Mars joins up with the wounded healer, Chiron, for 5 days. This can open up and activate you towards wanting to heal something that might have been with you for a long time. Having Mars activate Chiron creates an opening to allow old patterns in need of healing to evolve and transform. Parts of yourself that you have wanted to heal, grow, transform, and renew are being offered a push to take a healing leap. Now is an opportune time to take action within yourself on this and shift out of old patterns. It can be a potent time to pursue healing: go on retreat, get out in Nature, journal, schedule a session with a trusted practitioner in the healing arts, and find the way that's right for you to allow something to heal. Be an ally to your soul’s growth. June 14th ~ Full Moon in Sagittarius 4:52 AM PDT June 14th’s Full Moon can be quite energetic. It’s in the fiery sign of Sagittarius and in opposition to the mentally active Gemini Sun. Full Moons can bring out more emotions, and under this Full moon, I recommend adding more movement to your day, both physically and mentally, to help release emotional layers coming up. May 15th Total Lunar eclipse 9:11 pm PDT Full Moon 9:14 pm Sun square Saturn Sun sextile Neptune On May 15th, we have a number of things happening, including a Full Moon in Scorpio that will be totally eclipsed at 9:11 PM PDT. Full Moons tend to open us up more emotionally and having it in the watery sign of Scorpio can add more flavors of intensity and depth to the recipe. Scorpio is passionate; this full moon offers a deep opportunity to explore sensuality, sexuality and passion with a romantic partner. The Scorpio full moon comes at the height of springtime every year, if your love life is aligned it's a wonderful time to let passion grow and go wild. I find that Scorpio's energy can also put you more in touch with passions that bring feelings of anger, and or frustration and irritability around situations that you may have been brushing off. If you find this to be opening up for you on this day, then I recommend noticing how anger is a healthy emotion that can guide you towards taking action on something that needs your attention. Anger can get you to rise up and do something about what’s not feeling right. Scorpio connects in with the "rise up and take action" energy motivated by anger as it is is traditionally ruled by action oriented Mars, whom is also known as the God of War in mythology. It's common be afraid of one's own anger as it can become destructive when it moves a person to lash out and be hurtful to others, which, of course, is not what I am suggesting here. Healthy anger, however, is a powerful signal to take action and correct what’s not feeling right. If ignored, the anger can get turned inward and show up as low energy and depression. Consciously expressed anger helps us show up and take care of ourselves, but when it’s suppressed, we can end up emotionally collapsing and unable to tend to our needs. Therefore, it’s good to feel anger and let it move you to self-responsibility and awareness of unmet needs or crossed boundaries. This Scorpio full moon is a powerful time to work with this terrain. As mentioned, this Full Moon in Scorpio comes with a Total Lunar Eclipse. Lunar Eclipses can also be associated with an emotional opening or new awareness around something that is in need of letting go. This may not happen on the day of the eclipse but can set the energy in motion that can show up in 2 weeks to 2 months down the road. Also on May 15th, we have the Sun making a hard Square aspect with Saturn, possibly adding a bit of downer energy to what can already be an emotional day with the Full Moon. However, the Sun is making a positive Sextile aspect with Neptune at the same time, opening up your intuition and psychic senses. This Sun/Neptune energy can also get you in touch with the bigger perspective of your Soul's journey here on Earth, allowing for some ease around hard emotional things that may show up on this day. On May 15th, I recommend making a plan to spend a part of the day with some nourishing, soul-connecting company and or creating an intentional emotional-releasing space to let go of the known karma that no longer serves you. May 17th - 22nd ~ Mars conjunction Neptune It may be hard to fully access your personal drive and willpower at this time. You may desire to do something constructive, but as you get into your day, you may end up in a different flow than what you intended. Therefore, from May 17th - 22nd, I recommend giving yourself grace around how your being wants to flow through these days. You may not be as productive as you hoped to be, but you will also find that your soul is being nourished by what you do end up doing. Amongst all the necessary work, family, and home life needs, allow yourself to just be in the flow during this time, as much as possible. If there are mission-critical tasks that occur on these days, take care to allow yourself some extra time and bandwidth to accomplish those goals. May 22nd - 24th ~ Mars Sextile Pluto Your energy and productivity capacities will start to pick up the pace again and may have you “going the distance” at this time. Therefore, if you feel like you start the week of the 16th off with lower energy, then I recommend letting it be what it is knowing things will pick back up again on the 22nd through the 24th. Mars/Pluto energy can also powerfully activate your stirrings from your egoic drives. It’s helpful to be attentive during this time, to make sure you’re overly activated ego isn’t running the whole show. May 24th - 26th ~ Venus sextile Saturn This time offers an opportunity to have more balance in your relationships. This energy can bring in feeling the steadiness of the partnership you’re in as well as coming up with practical solutions to things you’ve been trying to work out together. If you’re not in a relationship and would like to be in one, these couple of days are a good time to tune in and get more serious about how to manifest this in your life. What steps do you need to take to make this happen? The heart’s emotional field is being offered supportive structure from Saturn’s influence. May 26th - 29th ~ Venus square Neptune This can potentially open up more confusion around uncertain relationships you have in your life. The best way to work with this is to make sure you acknowledge the realities of the situation you’re in or the person you’re in a relationship with and make sure you’re not showing up with rose-colored glasses or only seeing the good things while avoiding the difficult aspects that need attention. May 29th - 31st ~ Mars conjunct Jupiter The month ends with positive and stimulating energy that wants to expand the world you live in. Jupiter and Mars both join together in Aries, opening up an abundance of “lighting a fire under your …” (you know what) and motivating you to take action. Please keep in mind that Mercury will still be in retrograde, so try not to let too much optimism blind you from making appropriate decisions for yourself at this time. It’s great to feel the positivity while still walking the middle line in order to maintain a sense of balance. It’s possible that Jupiter can overstimulate Mars to get your Will moving too much, if that happens find a good channel like exercise, dance, or other playful activity to move the energy. These last days of the month are great for allowing inspiration and movement towards summer! Book an astrology reading and find out how the Spring and the year ahead are looking for you! Welcome to May! As nature keeps transforming with the energy of Spring, it's a good time to tune in and notice the larger transformations and shifts happening for you. I love the astrological energies coming in these early days of May as they are super supportive in stimulating you to move into action, which can benefit your life in the long run. May 1-2nd - Venus sextile Pluto These first couple of days of May can offer you access to deeper levels of wanting to give and receive love. You may feel growing joy associated with an emerging need to be more in touch and invested with your friendships and or the important people in your life. In intimate relationships, your desire for connection can also become quite strong during this time. If you have been feeling disconnected from your relationships, this would be a good time to tune in and see how you can show up with more commitment and care. May 3rd - 10th - Jupiter sextile Pluto May 3rd through the 10th offers supportive energy to stimulate you into taking the steps needed to create bigger and positive changes in your life. Ask yourself: What big life changes are you in right now that you know won’t happen overnight and will take longer to complete? What you do now can positively impact these larger transformations you see happening. Utilize this time to not just recognize what’s changing in your life, but put forth the effort you previously may not have been able to. Bring awareness to how the choices you make now can benefit you in weeks and months to come. May 4th - 7th ~ Mars Sextile Uranus Overlapping with the previous Jupiter/Pluto Sextile, we also have Mars and Uranus bringing more creative stimulation towards breaking free of restrictions so you can move forward and take the steps mentioned above. Mars is in Pisces, so this requires you to connect with your psychic senses about your life and tap into what your life is really calling you towards, and then move in that direction. May 10th - June 2nd ~ Mercury Retrograde As noted, the first 9 days of May are a good time to truly step into motion and take the much-needed steps for positive change in your life. Come May 10th, Mercury, the ruler of our thoughts and communications, will be going retrograde in Gemini, slowing your multi-tasking mental processes down. Mercury will be in retrograde until June 2nd and during this time, decision-making may feel more challenging and anything you “sign on the dotted line” about or make a firm decision on, may have to be re-worked again after June 2nd. A clearer thinking process around decision-making becomes more available when Mercury is out of retrograde and goes direct, starting June 3rd. When Mercury is in Retrograde, it is appearing to be moving backward in the sky from Earth’s vantage point for 3 weeks. During this time, people often find more challenges and issues with communications, electronics, travel, etc… and you may be finding it takes longer to get from point A to point B, or there’s more back and forth communication before things become clear. Often, I see Mercury retrograde as an offering to surrender, trusting things will work out in the end, and taking the unexpected “scenic route”. What seemed like a detour can bring you to something delightful you wouldn’t have been able to experience otherwise. Let go and allow an alternate way of “getting there” to manifest. More on Mercury retrograde… The dynamics of Mercury retrograde periods are gaining more and more awareness in our collective cultural conversations. The most common theme is an awareness of a tendency for communications and technology to go haywire and a “warning” against doing certain activities during this 3 week period. I find what is most alive regarding Mercury retrograde is holding an awareness that the planetary energy that governs thought and communication is in “rewind” mode for 3 weeks, Mercury is going back over the terrain of our recent weeks. It’s a great opportunity to review, reprocess, and integrate our recent thought processes. This is a time for recollection and reflecting and metabolizing our recent experiences. It’s when we avoid this opportunity and try to conduct our affairs by charging ahead as if Mercury were moving with a direct forward motion that communication and thinking go haywire and run wonky. When we allow the retrograde period as an opportunity to welcome a quality of retreat into integration we can take the opportunity to recalibrate ourselves and move in harmony with the nature of this time. It also makes this a good time to finish up old projects that are lingering out there, taking up psychic space, not allowing you to cleanly move forward in life. Spend time with these activities during these next 3 weeks and you will find ease in completing them. Clean out closets, garages, workspaces, donate items, etc… In other words, clear out the physical clutter, which will clear out mental clutter and allow you an opportunity to start anew when Mercury goes direct on June 3rd. May 15th Total Lunar eclipse 9:11 pm PDT Full Moon 9:14 pm Sun Square Saturn ~ Sun Sextile Neptune On May 15th, we have a number of things happening, including a Full Moon in Scorpio that will be totally eclipsed at 9:11 PM PDT. I will be sharing the full report of this day at the start of my next newsletter. Until then, I recommend planning ahead for Sunday, May 15th, by taking the day off and spending it with some nourishing, soul-connecting company.
