Spring Equinox + Pluto Moves into Aquarius

Picture
The Spring Equinox is here; we are halfway between Winter and Summer Solstice when the Sun enters Aries. This Spring Equinox time energy can engender brighter feelings as more light comes in and we head into longer, warmer days in the Northern Hemisphere. The plants are stirring underground, and like Aries’ ram lamb nature, they start to push forth, rear heads, and sprout. How is your life reflecting and manifesting this Arien Spring season energy?

Also, Pluto moves into Aquarius this month and we are shifting towards a new era in humanity -  Read on to get the full scoop!
March 20th: Spring Equinox + Sun enters Aries
March 21st: New Moon Aries 10:23 AM, PDT

Spring Equinox that always comes as the Sun Moves into Aries - the zodiac sign that begins the zodiac circle. The fiery and passionate sign of Aries is considered to be the child of the zodiac. It’s a good reminder to approach the Spring season in tune with your child-like nature, in awe of what’s around you and the exciting possibilities of all the paths you can take.

To add to the Sun in Aries / Spring Equinox movement towards fresh and new possibilities, we will have a New Moon in Aries on the following day, March 21st. It’s a supportive time for opening into what wants to spring forth in your life. Whether it is a plan you’ve been working on or new creative ideas emerging. These days offer a potent time to set some intentional space for reflection. Explore what action steps you can take this week to support any new beginnings happening for you (internally and externally). Write down your thoughts so you can return to this over the following days and months to help you stay grounded and focused through the Spring season.

March 26th - 27th: Mercury conjuncts Chiron and Jupiter

Mercury, the planet that influences your mind - thoughts, communications, and mental processes is joining its energy (conjunction) with Chiron, the wounded healer, on March 26th. It is an opportune time to have that healing conversation if you know one is on the horizon.

Perhaps there’s a “conversation with yourself” you need to get into a better place regarding how you think about a situation or life circumstance. Chiron transits can help us bring healing to patterns of “woundology”.  It’s good to feel our feelings when we have them, and sometimes we might unconsciously interject negative thoughts onto them, creating a dynamic of feeling worse before we notice what has occurred. If you have this pattern, it’s helpful to notice if you’re attaching more negative thinking toward the things you already feel, which can make you emotionally spiral or feel bad about yourself. See where you can be more mindful (pun intended) about these thought processes and shift your thinking to provide more opening and healing versus putting yourself down.

This Mercury conjunct Chiron transit combines well with Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter the following day on the 27th, opening up more access to Jupiter’s gifts of positive and expansive movement. The energy of the Mercury/Jupiter conjunction can help you get out of limiting thought patterns and see what more can open regarding the things going on in your life that may feel more challenging and restrictive.
Picture
March: 30th - 31st: Mars Trine Saturn + Venus conduct Uranus

March ends with a productive Trine between Mars and Saturn and Venus and Uranus joining their energies in conjunction. From March 30th to 31st, you may feel the urge to create more novel and evolving beauty around you (Venus/Uranus) and the ability to manifest (Mars/Saturn) the inspiration coming through.

Mars and Saturn, in a Trine aspect with each other, open up an opportunity to use your active energy in a grounded and practical way, productive, balanced, and to the point. When Venus and Uranus blend their energies in Conjunction, you may notice a heart-opening connection to new ideas of inspiration. Venus also influences our relationships with others in friendship and intimacy. At the same time, Uranus’s energy can suddenly urge us to break out of old stuck patterns that feel freeing to do so. With Mars and Saturn in the mix, there’s a sense of direction and steadiness to the potentially changing energy that feels balanced.

In the last days of the month, tune in to what the spirit winds of inspiration in your being are calling you to do and create. See what sense of freedom you can gain by taking the inspiring action steps moving through you on the 30th and 31st.

Planet Pluto
A special addition - Pluto enters Aquarius this month!

Pluto is the slowest moving planet in our solar system and can significantly transform our lives over a long period. (Yes, astrologers continue to work with the power of Pluto’s influence as a member of the “planet” community) Pluto takes 248 years to make one orbit around the Sun and can stay in one sign from 14 to 31 years; it affects a generation of people at a time. Its effect is like a death and birth process in that things must change at some point, and when they do, a birth of something new in your life or with humanity emerges. The process can slowly happen over a few years or more when Pluto is involved with change. Some things just take longer to transform and get to a new place.

When Pluto enters a new sign, it can be a significant mark at the end of one era and the beginning of the next. Pluto has been transiting through Capricorn since 2008, and on March 23rd, Pluto moves into Aquarius. However, it is in retrograde for six months out of every year, so it will go in and out of Capricorn a few more times before it remains entirely in Aquarius during November 2024.

Notice the transformations that have shaped your life and the collective since 2008. Pluto in Aquarius will begin a new collective era that will take us to 2044 when Pluto enters the next sign (Pisces).

These next 20 years of Pluto’s transit through Aquarius signify a rather large topic, but I will share some things to consider. Pluto, the great transformer, is headed into a sign that opens the mind to pathways of envisioning innovative ways to help humanity move forward. Aquarius can also be about a revolution in all senses of the word. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was from 1778 - 1798 when social and political revolutions were happening all over the globe. To get a bigger picture, study the events and the outcomes of the Enlightenment, American and especially the French Revolution, which occurred the whole time Pluto was last in Aquarius. Many current systems may not only be challenged but revolted. Could this be the subsequent revolutionary era where our collective energy is going?

If you know your natal chart and what house is ruled by Aquarius in your chart, then you can see where this Plutonian energy is occurring in your personal life over the next several years. If you need help understanding this energy, a private, individualized astrology reading can guide you on best working with what’s changing for you. We can explore this energy together, and you can learn how Pluto in Aquarius brings revolutionary changes to your life over the next several years.

Saturn moves into Pisces: What structures will shift in your life?

Picture
This month Saturn enters Pisces bringing its ever-present insistence on grounding, practicality, and need for structure into the transcendent, oceanic realm of the adaptable, flowing, and compassionate sign of the fishes—a significant shift in energy from where Saturn has been over the last five years. This is a potent astrological transition. When slower-moving planets like Saturn enter a new sign, it signals a new chapter.
March 1-3
Venus Conjunct Jupiter
Venus Conjunct Chiron

March begins with a beautiful Conjunction between Venus and Jupiter In Aries. If you have been “looking up” just after sunset lately, you may have noticed these two planets' magnificence growing closer together each night in the twilight glory of the western skies.

When Venus and Jupiter’s energy combine in conjunction, it creates a pleasant, heart-opening, and expansive experience. Venus influences relationships and the aesthetic aspects of life, and Jupiter brings opportunities for feeling positive and expansive. It’s a supportive time to get your visionary cap on and also get creative.

Things may feel more at ease from the 1st through the 3rd. It’s a good time to move through obstacles and create more openness around any issues in your relationships that need working out. Some heart healing alignment may also open up as Venus comes into Conjunction with Chiron, the “Wounded Healer,” on the 3rd.

Picture
March 3-4
Mercury Conjunct Saturn

Mercury and Saturn join their energies from the 3rd through the 4th, which can shift energies a bit from the aforementioned Venus/Jupiter conjunction and have you focus more seriously on life's practical matters. Saturn’s energy creates more constriction, the opposite of Jupiter’s expansiveness. The sober, sane, and settled energy of Saturn, in conjunction with Mercury, can help your thinking gain valuable focus regarding what are the truly essential things to be working on.

Saturn’s influence removes the “noise” of the extra things you would typically get involved in that can feel distracting. You might feel overwhelmed on the 3rd and 4th by trying to put your attention in too many directions. Notice what is genuinely calling your attention, and let the rest be for now. This is a good time to create accomplishment and success with what you put your efforts towards. Therefore, if there’s anything you’ve been putting off, like doing your taxes or making an important call … Saturn and Mercury’s combined energy on these days would be supportive to get to work on those things. You’ll be able to put your mind to the task!

March 7th
Saturn moves into Pisces
& Full Moon in Virgo

This is a day of potent astrological transition. Whenever slower-moving planets enter a new sign, it signals a new chapter, this one is initiated with an attendant Full Moon!

Saturn brings the need to restructure whatever areas of your life it influences by transit (relationships, home, career, you, etc.). It spends about 2.5 years in one zodiac sign before transiting to the next. It has been in its comfortable and rulership signs of Capricorn (modern rulership) and Aquarius (ancient rulership) for the last five years. On March 7th, Saturn enters the sign of Pisces, which will be a significant shift in energy from where it has been for the last half a decade.

Saturn is grounded and realistic and aligns us with creating structure, boundaries, and orderliness. The zodiac sign it is in describes how these aspects get created. Pisces is flowy and idealistic and can be more uncomfortable energy for Saturn’s predictable nature.

As Saturn enters Pisces on the 7th, a 2.5-year odyssey of restructuring your ideals will begin to evolve slowly. This could bring up fears if you are attached to the structures you are called to change. If you know where Pisces resides in your natal chart, you can hone in on this area of your life and notice if you feel a change is on the horizon.

Saturn is grounded in reality, and Pisces offers an ability to flow outside your normal boundaries and imagine or dream into other ways of creating your reality. If you work with the Piscean energy of being in flow with what’s changing over the next 2-3 years, you may experience a more beautiful structure for your life than you thought possible. Imagine bringing your dream visions into grounded reality!  That’s the highest vibrational potential that wants to emerge from this period of Saturn transiting Pisces.

On the same day the portal opens with Saturn entering Pisces (March 7th), we have a Full Moon in Virgo, the sign 180° directly opposite Pisces. It may be a more emotional day as you navigate the flowy Piscean sea of opening boundaries with earthy Virgo's practical, structured, and organized energy. When Planets are in opposites signs (such as the Sun and Moon in this case), the best way to handle the pull to one side or the other is to find a way to integrate and allow both energies to come to play.

What is the balance for you? How can you embody your grounded, practical presence here and now, with your inner dreamy ideals seeking to manifest and be known? The Virgo Full Moon adds emphasis to the hands-on attending that is required to midwife this Piscean loftiness into reality!

Picture
March 10-12th
Venus Sextile Mars
Jupiter Conjunct Chiron
Mercury Sextile Uranus

March 10th-12th brings some optimistic and stimulating weekend energy from several planetary interplays. Venus and Mars make a Sextile with each other, activating positive dynamic energies around relationships. Jupiter and Chiron combine their energies in conjunction and open with an expansiveness around opportunities for healing. Mercury and Uranus also make a Sextile with each other stimulating your creative and visionary mind and helping you break out of mental blocks.

The 10th through the 12th is a favorable time to socialize, ask that special person out on a date, open your heart, and play creatively with your artistry and in relationships. As you flow with these fun Sextiles between Venus/Mars and Mercury/Uranus and allow these movements to bring new and refreshing energy, it can feel healing with the blended energies of Jupiter and Chiron in the mix.

This is a particularly opportune weekend for creating good connections with partners, friends, and family… all your loved ones.

March 14th -19th
Mars Square Neptune

Following the wave of stimulation energy occurring 10th-12th, Mars and Neptune come into a Square aspect with each other. Squares can be more challenging to navigate as the planets are located 90 degrees from each other, creating frictional energy between the two planets. This can be experienced as internal conflicts where one part of yourself feels impeded by another aspect of yourself.

Mars activates our will to move towards the things we want to be doing. Neptune allows our souls to open and connect to the larger universal forces at play. When Mars and Neptune come into a Square aspect on the 14th through the 19th, your physical energy might feel lower, and you may need to surrender your will and listen to your soul if it’s calling you to move in a different direction than you intended.

You may be more drawn to a walk, music, meditation or reading a book than checking off that to-do list. That is A-OK! Permit yourself to go with the flow of your energies during March 14th-19th, or else you might spend too much of your time in conflict with yourself regarding how you are going about your day.

Neptune has a way of serendipitously bringing us right to where we need to be for something meaningful to happen in our lives, and sometimes this is more possible when we get out of our way. During the Mars Square Neptune transit, I recommend GOING WITH THE FLOW!

What Influences your Thoughts?

Picture

In this mid-Feb blog, I am highlighting the transits of Mercury, the planet that influences mental processing and communication. Mercury is the fastest-moving planet in our solar system. It orbits the Sun in 88 days and spends about 2-3 weeks in each zodiac sign (except during retrograde). Planetary transits with Mercury are brief and worthy of our attention as they influence everyday life by governing the ever-changing sphere of our consciousness and cognition that we process and experience through language.
2/17 - 2/19
Mercury Sextile Jupiter

Mercury influences our mental processes and communications, and Jupiter optimistically expands our approach. When Mercury and Jupiter move into an opportunistic Sextile aspect from the 17th through the 19th, it creates more capacity for optimistic thinking. A positive outlook naturally comes wherever you find yourself. It’s a supportive time to expand your mind and think outside the box. If you feel stuck in a particular way of thinking, this Mercury/Jupiter transit may allow you to open to broader perspectives. I encourage you to take note of new thoughts coming in and write your ideas down during these dates. It’s a potent time to harness the power of positive thinking.
Picture
2/19 - 2/21
Venus Sextile Pluto
With Pisces New Moon 11:06 pm PST (2/19)

Just after Mercury and Jupiter create an opening for more expansive mental energy, Venus and Pluto will also make a positive, Sextile aspect with each other from the 19th through the 21st. Venus influences aspects of yourself that connect to relationships, social life, and your aesthetic senses of bringing beauty into your life. Pluto’s energy influences change and transformation, taking you below the superficial levels of your experience to bring forth the power of deeper layers of being. Its influence can bring to the surface the things you may not have been conscious of and need to see to transform your experiences and grow more profoundly as a human being.

Pluto and Venus together stimulate a need for connecting with others and opening up the depths of love and intimacy. You may notice stronger attractions from the 19th-21st and a need to transform your love relationship(s) to the next level. The Venus/Pluto Sextile is a positive and supportive time to move through any existing complicated layers and shift into new spaces.

This Venus/Pluto energy is connected to the New Moon in Pisces on the 19th. Pisces opens your senses to yourself at a soul level as a being swimming in the big sea of the Universe. This expansiveness can help you break through old limitations and tap into new experiences congruent with Pluto and Venus's positive Sextile of transforming power and the areas mentioned above in your life it may influence.
2/20
Mercury Sextile Chiron

In this month’s wave of planetary Sextiles, Mercury and Chiron are next in line on the 20th. Chiron is the wounded healer. You may find yourself in healing conversations that help you move forward. If you have been in situations recently where things need working out, I recommend taking the opportunity on or on the days surrounding Feb 20th to open dialogue.

To help guide you, think back to the time around January 11th. This period would have been when Mercury and Chiron were in a difficult Square aspect with each other. You might have felt challenged by conversations, communication, or thoughts relating to a difficult situation. Perhaps you’ve been able to move through it since then, and on Feb 20th, you may experience having more positive thoughts about the situation's outcome. You might have that healing conversation and or be able to process the situation from a place of your higher mind.

Pausing to tune into this Mercury/Chiron transit will be helpful for the following days when Mercury comes into another more challenging Square aspect with Uranus (see below).
Picture
2/21 - 2/23
Mercury Square Uranus

As mentioned throughout this Mid-Feb blog, Mercury relates to our communications and mental processes. Uranus opens up the aspect of ourselves that wants to break out of old habits and patterns and get us into new ways of being that feel exciting and free. On Feb 21st - 23rd, Mercury and Uranus will be in a difficult Square aspect, challenging you to break out of stubborn thoughts or ways of communicating that keep you from having forward movement with others.

During the 21st - 23rd, notice if you have upwelling new ways of thinking that challenge your old ways. Sometimes we can feel so attached to a long-held thought about something that we can’t imagine seeing it in any other way, much less letting it go. Doing so would be liberating, but do you feel ready to open up to a new way of thinking? With a square aspect like this, situations can show up as familiar patterns we find ourselves in that require us to shift out of these old ways of being. It can feel like a crisis, but it becomes a moment of personal growth if we genuinely make our way through it.

Ultimately, this up-and-coming Mercury/Uranus transit can free you out of communication patterns that just aren’t working for you anymore. It’s like updating your operating system and upgrading your patterns and processing modes. Recognize if any crisis-type or tipping point situations are related to communication, which can help you understand what parts of your life are calling for new thought patterns. With awareness, you can use this time to open yourself to discovering new pathways in communicating from an authentic place that allows you more alignment with yourself.

Welcome to February!

Picture
In the coming weeks, I am happy to report that there are no planets in retrograde until April, allowing for more ease and forward movement in your life. In the presence of all our planets in direct motion, Chiron also has positive aspects, creating opportunities for moving through deep layers of healing past wounds.
Feb. 1st - 2nd
Sun sextile Chiron

The first two days of February offer an opportunity to highlight and reflect on the ongoing processes of a more profound, long-term movement toward healing the roots of personal agency inside yourself. As the Sun makes a Sextile aspect with Chiron, “the wounded healer,” you have an opening for a harmonious pause to integrate with the deeper evolution of this time in your life. The wounded healer's energy relates to our ability to grow and transform through healing life’s wounds, and through this process, the healer that opens in ourselves can extend to helping others in the same way - a piece of what makes the world go around.

We do our healing work because we have to; as we heal a layer of ourselves, we can help others find wholeness in relationship with that same layer of awareness. The more we heal and become whole, the more we can help. We can’t help others with layers that are unhealed inside ourselves - this is the nature of the journey of the Wounded Healer.

Chiron has been solidly moving in Aries since March 2019 (with an additional Aries cameo during the summer of 2018). Aries influences a need for personal sovereignty and the ability to follow one’s path and life from a place of purpose. Notice the big picture in your life since the Spring of 2019 and possibly during the summer of 2018. Has a significant layer of healing allowed you to trailblaze a new path for yourself? What past wounds by the process of moving through them helped transform your life? What layers of Aries personal activation are still opening for you?

These last 3-4 years have been a potent time of transformation for many people; this transit offers a pause to explore what individual sovereignty and strengths are healing and growing more active in this period.

As the Sun shines the light on this energy during the first days of February, carve out some time to tune into this inquiry. Write it down, take notes, and pat yourself on the back for how far you’ve come. Taking some self-reflective time now will be a helpful guide for when Mars makes a Sextile to Chiron during 2/9 - 2/14, creating supportive energy to take more “healing action” on these over-arching themes (more on this below).
Picture
Feb. 3rd - 6th
Venus square Mars

Mars and Venus are both considered relationship planets. Mars enlivens the aspect of yourself that goes out and makes things happen.  Venus connects you with others and to your capacity to allow life to come to you. (The doing aspect, Mars ~ The being aspect, Venus)  When Mars and Venus come into a challenging square aspect with each other during the 3rd - 6th, an internal challenge might be brought to the surface around any unresolved tensions within your being/doing balance that need more intention and conscious awareness.

This Mars square Venus aspect could show up in many ways, and things might get animated as the urge to shift an old pattern you’ve been stuck in arrives. A conflict could arise in your relationship, possibly pointing to a deeper conflict inside yourself. Before making “it” about the other person, look to see what aspects of yourself are emotionally responding to the situation and explore the roots of those feelings living in your native emotional terrain.

Similarly, if you’re not being activated/triggered in a relationship with another, tune into your relationship with yourself. Are there parts of yourself that you are fighting? This Mars square Venus aspect might move you to witness how your “doing” and “being” requires balancing. Do you overwork yourself and have a hard time receiving help? Do you need to relax and “just be” more than you allow yourself? Are you overly relaxed and struggling to get yourself moving toward the things you need to do?

Bringing awareness to our process can help to harness the deep internal forces for conscious evolution. The Mars square Venus transit is a dynamic force that can help you get clear on internal patterns that, when shifted into a new way of responding, can help you sort out relationship conflicts.
Picture
Feb. 9th - 14th
Mars sextile Chiron

Mars is the planet that influences your movement towards anything you want to be doing or are planning on doing. Whether it’s how you move through your day, week, month, year, and life - Mars is your get-up-and-go and directs your energy into action. From Feb 9th through the 14th, Mars will be making a sextile aspect to Chiron, the wounded healer (read more info on Chiron in the above Sun sextile Chiron section).

A sextile aspect in astrology occurs when two planetary bodies or asteroids orbit and influence each other’s energy at a 60-degree angle — this mathematical angle creates an opening for activating each of the sky body’s highest and noblest qualities.

As a guide, read back on the above section regarding Sun Sextiling Chiron during the first few days of February. Recognize the healing potential available for personal sovereignty with Chiron in Aries. The 9th - 14th of February will be an activating time brought by Mars, getting additional wind in your sails to move through another layer as needed. Notice what is showing up in your life and what activities are positively stimulating you to move forward in focusing and healing your empowered sense of personal agency.

Feb. 9th - 11th
Mercury conjunct Pluto

While Mars and Chiron are in sextile, Mercury and Pluto will join their energies, making a conjunction in Capricorn. Mercury influences our thinking and communication, and Pluto, the ruler of the underworld, opens up the unconscious and gets us in touch with what’s operating behind the scenes of our feelings and actions. Things can seem more intense when Pluto’s involved in an astrological planetary equation.

When two planets make an orbital conjunction, they come together in the same sign and degree. Their astrological influences join forces and unite. During the 9th - 11th, Mercury and Pluto are in conjunction, and your communications can become intense. You may find yourself confronting something hovering below the surface. I encourage you to have that deeper conversation. Let the depths speak; clear out the pipes.

Mercury will have just gotten out of its post-retrograde shadow on the 7th. Forward movement with communication around things that need addressing may feel more active during the three days Mercury and Pluto are conjunct. Suppose you know that a coming conversion has the potential to become challenging or conflictual in ways that you truly want to avoid. In that case, I recommend waiting until after February 11th to have that conversation to avoid verbal power struggles that can also come up during this Mercury/Pluto transit.

Here’s a place astrology can help you make an intentional choice about entering or delaying a challenging rite of communication.

Mercury Goes Direct
Chiron Brings Healing

Picture
What motivates me to share astrological knowledge with you every two weeks is its capacity for being a personal transformational tool. I believe the planetary transit's influence on us is part of a more encompassing Universal dance. This wisdom practice offers a powerful set of tools for understanding the rhythms of deep archetypal energies stretching beyond the planets. Tuning into and learning the influences of the movements of the planets connects us to these larger Universal patterns and can offer surprisingly accurate guidance for navigating your life here on Earth.
January 18th
Mercury Goes Direct

Mercury, the planet that influences communications, thought processes, and traveling about, has been in retrograde since December 29th. On January 18th, Mercury will be out of retrograde and begin moving forward. Mercury will take a little time to get back up to speed and to the same place it was in the sky before going retrograde (February 7th). Give yourself some time to shake off and recalibrate from anything stirring in the last three weeks that still needs working out - communication with others, your mental processes around situations or things in your life, including shifts to future planning and travels.

The Mercury retrograde period (Dec 29th - Jan 17th) is excellent for reviewing, reprocessing, and releasing. In its movement, it covers the same sky territory three times. To understand how this happens, imagine yourself walking on the sidewalk. You slowly pause and then walk back over the same path you just walked. Then you gradually stop and move forward again. You can see that you have covered the same part of the sidewalk three times. To put this into context with the time of your life that will be in review and reprocessing with Mercury’s path, let us take a look at the dates:

On Jan 17th, Mercury will be on its last day of retrograde and will have returned to where it was on December 13th. On January 18th, when Mercury goes direct, it will be moving forward again, and on February 7th, it will be back at the same place it was on Dec 29th (the day it went retrograde) and will be “out of its retrograde shadow.” Think back to Dec 13th - Dec 29th and what was happening in your life in the last two weeks of December.

What communications were you involved in having?
What things were you sorting out or in a mental process around?
What decisions were you making that still seemed to be getting worked out?

If you need help jogging your memory, look at your photo library, schedule, journal writing, etc.,

Anything you were involved in during this period will continue to be in review through Feb 7th. If things don’t currently seem settled, look to feeling more resolved after Mercury gets out of its shadow in February, and until then, trust the process!

January 21st
New Moon in Aquarius
12:53 PM, PST

On January 21st, the Sun and Moon will come together in Aquarius, making it a New Moon. As the Moon sets with the Sun, the night will be darker, and it will be a deep soulful time to reflect on the Aquarian energy and set some intentions. Aquarius energy gets us in touch with how we uniquely create and express ourselves. There’s less attachment to how others respond, think, or feel, making it so easy for the out-of-the-box Aquarians to dance to the beat of their own drum.

The Moon influences our emotions and needs around nurturing ourselves and others. With the Moon in Aquarius, ask yourself: Are you feeling free to be YOU? How can you bravely open up to show others more of your unique self? Where do you hold yourself back, and what new shifts can you make to come into more congruence with who is on the inside and how you express yourself on the outside? How can opening up more to your creative spirit and energy be a part of your themes this year?
January 22nd - 25th
Venus conjunct Saturn

During January 22nd - 25th, Venus and Saturn join their energies in Aquarius, bringing a matter-of-fact seriousness to your love life. Venus influences our relationships, and Saturn brings an organizing principle that can have us restructuring areas of our life that get us into a more current and relevant place. With these two in combination, you might look at the realities of your relationships, good or bad, and make fundamental changes that bring everyone to a place of presence. If you or your partner(s) have been avoiding issues, the 22nd - 25th might be when things are activated to get addressed.

Changes and new understandings made under a Saturn transit are solid and can bring a stronger self-definition. Saturn’s influence can create make-it or break-it situations. If you need to address issues or concerns in your relationship, this may be when it comes up, and you’ll want to show up for any necessary work. This planetary transit combo can also activate the ending of a relationship or an unhealthy chapter of a relationship that is overdue in needing to transform.

Saturn and Venus in Aquarius can also provide clarity to renew stronger bonds in relationships reforged by novel Aquarian freedom, allowing everyone involved to be more fully who they are. Whatever the outcomes are when Venus and Saturn come together on the 22nd, it will allow for the proper restructuring your relationships need. With Venus and Saturn in Aquarius, there’s a potential for feeling free from something that may have felt burdensome in your relationship(s).

January 27th
Mercury square Chiron

As Mercury is now out of retrograde and moving direct, it will come into a square aspect with Chiron again, as it did back on December 15th. Mercury influences our thoughts and communications, and Chiron can open up to what needs healing. As Mercury and Chiron connect their energies through a Square aspect on January 27th, you might feel activated and motivated to heal internal processes around blocked or unhealthy communications or thoughts. Making conscious use of the opportunity available in this transit can help you transform your thinking and communication and move forward around a challenging situation.

Squares present conflicts inside us, often unconscious internal patterns activated by outside situations or interactions with others. Think back to what was going on for you around December 15th. Notice what similar things are on your mind on the 27th, and look at your inner mental blocks. Are you in a thinking pattern that is keeping you stuck? What kinds of communications are you in with others? Jan 27th and the surrounding days may bring up unresolved mental processes or situations and nudge the opportunity for healing movement forward.

Welcome 2023!

Picture
Happy New Year! The coming planetary transits support an opening for creative ideas for intentions in the coming year AND a need for continued resting and nesting. With the holidays behind us, you may need to gather and collect yourself after all the energy output these seasonal festivities often bring. I'd like to encourage you to write your insights down without the pressure of starting new things immediately since Mercury and Mars will still be retrograded a little bit into the New Year.
January 3rd - 6th
Venus Sextile Jupiter

As we move into the first week of 2023, Venus and Jupiter, known as the “benefics” in astrology, bring an influence of positive, feel-good energy.

January 3rd - 6th opens the space to feel increasing optimism for reinvigorating your capacity to create what you want.  Venus influences our relationships and social connections and opens our senses about creating beauty in our lives. Jupiter is about growth and expansion and stimulates a feeling of abundant energy. With Jupiter’s influence synched to Venus comes the possibility of opening into enthusiastic explorations of new horizons in cultivating yourself and your relationships. These planets are the “benefics” because they can bring ease, optimism, and a sense of good fortune wherever they influence. When they are in a sextile aspect with each other, they stimulate you to express the best qualities of the planetary energies described above.

January 6th
Full Moon in Cancer
3:08 PM PST

On Jan 6th, we will have a Full Moon in Cancer. Cancer is about home and family, and nesting. Although the New Year often finds a mainstream collective emphasis on jumping into celebration and “resolutions,” the Cancer Full Moon on the 6th can remind you that it’s okay to rest and nest. Cancer also brings qualities of nurturing and mothering. In the winter, nature puts its energy down into the roots of plants and trees. Allow the warmth of the Cancer Full Moon energy to nurture the roots of your intentions until the power of your “new year’s resolutions” is ready to rise.

A full Moon can open us up emotionally, and Cancer can strengthen your emotional body portal. If you have complicated feelings coming up on or around this Full Moon, tune into the above Cancer aspects. Notice what’s been happening recently in your home and family situations and your needs for nurturing, nesting, and resting. Your emotions can guide you to take better care of these aspects for yourself in your life.

On Winter Solstice, the Sun enters Capricorn, and Winter's First Full Moon is always in Cancer. From Winter Solstice, the Sun’s light will grow longer each day over the next six months until we come to Summer Solstice when the Sun enters Cancer. At this time, we start slowly pivoting toward darkness, and subsequently, the first Full Moon of Summer is in Capricorn.
Picture
Intertwining the Winter dark and the Summer Light reminds me of the commonly known symbolism of the Yin-Yang (TaiJi) symbol. Yin represents the winter, dark and cold, and Yang represents Summer, light, and warmth. The large black zone (Yin) in the Taiji symbol contains a little white circle inside, and the large white area (Yang) includes a black dot inside, indicating light within the dark and dark within the light, respectively.

The small circles of opposite colors dancing inside the larger arcing shapes of the seasons are like the Full Moons that occur close to the Solstices. The first Winter Full Moon is in Cancer, the sign of the Summer Solstice, as the light begins growing on Winter Solstice. It’s inspiring to watch the endless layers of connections that exist between the movements of celestial bodies and the significance of mythic symbols.

This rising of intention/resolve/resolutions in the heart of winter upon the New Year is like the little white circle inside the great black field of Yin in the Yin-Yang (Taiji) Symbol.
January 7th - 9th
Mercury Trine Uranus

After the Full Moon, the Trine between Mercury and Uranus can influence your mind to open to visions and ideas of how to approach your life. Mercury connects to our thinking and verbal communication, while Uranus keeps us open to new ways of doing things. Recognizing there is more out there to work with than we once thought. A sense of excitement and freedom comes with the Uranuian energy as it gives you the urge to break out of old stuck patterns and ways of thinking and living.

A Trine aspect in astrology works like the smooth flow of two rivers merging. With this ease from January  7th through the 9th, the best qualities of Mercury and Uranus come into play and can help you plant new seeds of ideas and inspiration for 2023.

Write down what comes to mind! Implementing the ideas during this Mercury/Uranus transit may come later. As the Full Moon in Cancer suggests, it’s an excellent time to nurture your seeds. Feel your new ideas come alive inside you—vision how they can positively change your life. After January 12th, when Mars goes Direct, it will be a better time to sort through how you’ll want to implement them.

Mercury will continue to be in retrograde until January 18th, which is another good reminder that it might not be time yet to take action. The sense of rewinding, reviewing, reflecting, releasing, and recalibrating is a good continued practice through this Mercury retrograde period.
Picture
January 12th
Mars goes Direct
(retrograde period Oct 30th - Jan 12th)

We made our way through the final months of the year, the holidays, and now early January with a slowed-down Mars in retrograde. Mars influences our physical energy and action in life and has been retrograde since October 30th.

Did you notice more blocks in the last couple of months? Mars in retrograde may be the reason. Despite the possible frustrations regarding the extended time it may have taken to complete things, this period aligned well with the natural flow of late autumn and winter—a time for resting, nesting, and increased sleep.

Mars is going Direct on January 12th. Your energy begins to pick up, and things might seem more open for forward movement. As with all planetary retrogrades, the planet appears to be moving backward in the sky and going over the same sky terrain it had just covered. On the 12th, Mars will have retrograded back to the same place it was in the sky on Sept 4th.

Reflect on the essential things you’ve been putting your energy towards since Sept 4th - these same themes will most likely continue until Mars gets out of its retrograde shadow on March 15th. This overall ends up being a 6-month time period that closely reviews what you were most actively involved in back in September and October. This final stretch until March 15th will be when these things start moving forward.

The time beginning after January 12 is time to deliberate and take action to implement the necessary steps for manifesting your goals and see how your efforts pay off in the Spring. It takes time for a planet to get back to speed after being in retrograde, so whatever you’ve been working on might still seem slow over January. If you find this true, it may require an extra emphasis on patience.

Winter Solstice, New Moon
+ More...

Picture
As the year is closing, the planetary energies emphasize a natural tendency for reflection and review of what 2022 has brought to you with a strong sense for intention setting for the new year coming. In the next couple of weeks, we have Winter Solstice closely tied to the New Moon in Capricorn, and the start of a Mercury Retrograde sandwiched between the holidays. Mars continuing to be in retrograde until January 11th can remind you to not push hard against the grain and just let yourself flow.
Dec 17th - 19th
Mercury Trine Uranus

Mercury makes a positive Trine aspect with Uranus, opening pathways for novel and creative levels of thought and communication. Have you been stuck in familiar ways of thinking that aren’t fully working for you? Do you need to move forward on how to communicate around an issue with another? Mercury influences how we think and speak, and Uranus sparks new ideas that help us break free from old stuck patterns. The 17th - 19th brings a supportive time for progressive conversations and thoughts about building new pathways forward. Are there situations that have been getting you down? You may notice sudden new vistas of ideas that allow you more freedom around these situations. It is a good time to share your inspirations and to write down insights you receive during these days as a good reference for later.
Dec 21st
Sun enters Capricorn
Winter Solstice

1:48 PM PST

December 21st is the Winter Solstice, the longest night and shortest period of daylight all year in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s a good day to pause and reflect on the year. The solstice is a pivot point that turns us towards more light coming in for the next six months. I recommend creating an intentional space to reflect on what personal shifts you’re making that ultimately allow you to bring more light to your life.

Each year, on Winter Solstice, the Sun moves into the sign of Capricorn. This movement can help fine-tune your intentions for positive shifts in your life’s deep focus. Symbolized by the Mountain Goat that can steadily make its way up to the top, Capricorn represents the ability to put forth consistent and solid efforts of focus and work to accomplish goals and create success. What aspects of your life need some Mountain Goat energy? This year the Capricorn Solstice occurs very close to the New Moon, amplifying your capacity to use this Solstice period to harness focus on renewing your sense of purpose.

Dec 23rd
New Moon in Capricorn

2:17 AM, PST

A few days after the Winter Solstice and the Sun entering Capricorn, there will be a New Moon in Capricorn on the 23rd. New moons occur when the Sun and Moon join together in the same sign, creating our monthly lunar reset point. Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth Sign. The four cardinal signs begin each season when the Sun enters:

Aries - Spring Equinox
Cancer - Summer Solstice
Libra - Autumn Equinox
Capricorn - Winter Solstice

Those born under these signs can be more inclined towards leadership, initiation, and focusing on new beginnings. Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) are more grounded, practical, and geared toward planning. During this new Moon, the Sun and Moon are in Capricorn; it’s a supportive time to connect to what you want to take initiation on building in your life, especially as we head into the New Year.

Under this New Moon energy, I recommend creating space for yourself to tune into what you’re excited about initiating in 2023. Writing out a reasonable and achievable plan for yourself with what you’re looking to build in the coming year.
Dec 23rd - 27th
Mercury Sextile Neptune

Are you curious about the planetary influences over the holidays this year? With Mercury sextile Neptune, your thinking can become more idealistic and dreamy, which can range from deep optimistic meditations on renewal and warm fireside soulfulness to animated holiday cheer amplified by imbibing libations. With Mercury making a positive Sextile with Neptune from the 23rd to the 27th, you may have more utopian, romantic, and idealized thoughts and perceptions in whatever holiday atmosphere you find yourself in.  Mercury influences our mental processes, and Neptune’s energy can help us connect to more spiritual and universal concepts, making higher meaning out of any situation that arises.

Mercury and Neptune dynamics can also open your mental psychic senses, and you might notice yourself connecting to the thoughts and energies of others or tapping into higher octaves of your awareness. If you hope to avoid getting pulled into unconscious negative patterns at holiday gatherings, create an action plan for yourself before the 23rd. Make a list of what may happen and what you can do or say that will offer a way for you to stay connected to yourself and help keep you in your positive, conscious alignment.
Picture
Dec 29th - Jan 18th
Mercury goes retrograde

Mercury retrogrades on December 29th. That’s right; we couldn’t escape 2022 without one more Mercury retrograde! This Mercury retrograde supports our natural tendency to do an end-of-year review and to take the opportunity to set higher intentions for the new year.

As Mercury, the planet that governs thought and communication goes retrograde, it will be in “rewind’ mode and going back over the terrain of our recent weeks. Just as we are ending another year, it’s an excellent opportunity to review, reprocess, and integrate current events in your life. It’s a time for recollecting, reflecting, and metabolizing your recent experiences. When we avoid this opportunity and try to conduct our affairs by charging ahead as if Mercury were moving with a direct forward motion, communication and thinking go haywire and run wonky. When we allow the retrograde period as an opportunity to welcome a retreat into integration, we can take the opportunity to recalibrate ourselves and move in harmony with the nature of this time.

Mercury is retrograding in Capricorn and can direct our attention toward the practical matters of life. It’s a supportive time to finish up old projects taking up psychic space. Spend time with these activities during these next three weeks, and you will find ease in completing them. Clear out closets, garages, workspaces, donate items, etc.

Mercury rules our minds, and when you clear out the physical clutter, you are also helping clear your mental clutter. When Mercury goes direct again on Jan 19th, you can feel mentally refreshed if you take advantage of the Mercury retrograde, rewind, review, and clear out period.
Dec 31st
Venus Conjunct Pluto

It’s New Year’s eve, and Venus and Pluto are joining their energies together in Capricorn in a conjunct aspect. This combo can intensify attractions and make you feel a deep need to connect with loved ones in all kinds of ways. It’s a good day to be social but with intention. This planetary influence may have you going below the superficial layers of “ringing in the New Year” and wanting more of a transformational experience. You can tune into this understanding and see what this means for you. If you like to meditate and create an intention for the new year, these planetary influences can help you connect to the metamorphic depths that continually support the roots of love in your life.

~December Astrology~

Picture
The deep & soulful month of December has arrived. As colder airs blow in and nature settles into the roots, we do well to slow down, sleep more on these longer nights, and cozy up with warm drinks and dear ones. Mars continues to be in retrograde through the end of the year. It's a supportive time to rest yet stay reflective on what's taking shape in your life.
December 1st  -  4th
Mercury Square Neptune
Venus Sextile Saturn

Venus and Saturn connect their energies over a positive and feel-good Sextile aspect the first week of December. You may notice more of a sense of ease and stability in relationships. If there have been some trying times between you and your loved one or ones, this could be a week that offers a sense of feeling more grounded in the ability to show up for whatever needs tending.

Also, during the first week of December, Mercury and Neptune come into a challenging square, possibly adding confusion to your thought processes and communications. Mercury’s influence affects your mind and the way you communicate. Neptune connects you more to the oceanic, intangible energetics of things. It opens up your capacity for intuitive sensing, and when Neptune is involved with Mercury, it isn’t always clear where your thoughts originate from in a given moment.  Are you influenced by: others’ feelings, something you read, or the collective consciousness? It might be challenging to get clear on decisions you need to make during this first week of the month.

I recommend allowing the stability of Venus and Saturn to enable you to be in the flow of how things are. Try not to think too hard about things if they aren’t making sense. During these early days of December, wait until after this first week to make crucial decisions.
Picture
December 3rd - 6th
Venus Square Neptune

Moving towards the end of the first week of December, Venus squaring Neptune can activate your dreamy senses around ideals and how you imagine your life.  A square aspect between two planets typically brings conflict; the challenge here is how you take what you're imagining and put it into reality. You may spend some time in dreamland from December 3rd through the 6th. I don’t recommend making weighty decisions during this time.

Venus also rules our connection to relationships, so the same can also be applied here. We can sometimes focus more on the potential of our partner(s) and fall in love with the possibility of who they could be and the life we could have versus the reality of who they are and how things are. Especially at this time, notice if you are attaching yourself to higher ideals and visions of your partner, these may have you overlooking essential things that require your attention. Venus square Neptune can highlight such tendencies; at this time, it’s worth looking at the parts of your relationship you might be avoiding.
Picture
December 7th
Full Moon in Gemini
8:08 PM PST

On December 7th, we have a Full Moon in Gemini. Gemini (the sign of Twins, dual options) is flexible and changeable and improves our multi-tasking skills. With the Sun in Sagittarius (sign opposite of Gemini), it’s a good time to notice your life direction while also seeing where you can open to versatility. The Sagittarian Centaur depiction of half man and half horse pointing an arrow in one direction symbolizes an ability to stand in your truth and know the right way for you. The Gemini Full Moon offers a sense of seeing there is more than one way of getting there, and perhaps it’s also okay to change the course if needed.

The moon rules our emotional and nurturing side and activates these aspects as it moves into its fully Sun-illuminated state. If you notice yourself feeling more emotionally expressive on the Full Moon or the day before or after, tune in to the Gemini Moon and Sagittarian Sun dynamics. Are there other options in your life being presented to you that you haven’t wanted to consider? Are there other ideas you’ve rejected because they don’t fit your plan but would be beneficial? Are you in need of changing your path or shifting your strategy but haven’t wanted to explore other directions or make a new plan?

If you can, create an intentional space on December 7th and spend time with the above questions. See where you might be too fixed on your inner-knowing that you haven’t been willing to see other ways to benefit you. The Gemini energy can be a great teacher of change and flexibility.
December 14th - 16th
Mercury Square Chiron

Mercury rules our thoughts and communications, and Chiron is the wounded healer, pointing you toward what needs healing and growth in your life. December 14th through the 16th might be when communications with others provoke awareness of what needs healing inside yourself. Something in need of healing could have also presented itself to you from a conversation you had with another on or around November 24th or 25th when Mercury was in a favorable trine aspect with Chiron. Whatever got opened up then may have seemed to be flowing, and now during the square transit between Mercury and Chiron in mid-December, you see more work to do or more conversations to come to get deeper with the same dynamic.

The healing could also be about the thoughts you have or the stories you tell yourself that keep you stuck in a rut. The Chiron energy can help you shift into new patterns, but as the square from Mercury occurs, you’ll have to allow the painful awareness to come in first. Mid-December might be a time for internal healing around your thoughts and how you communicate what you think to others.

November Insights + Lunar Eclipse

Picture
November begins with Mars's recent shift into retrograde, which will continue through the end of the year. As Mars influences our physical energy, it's an excellent reminder to flow with nature's slower rhythm as Autumn turns into winter. We will also have the power of a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse this month. If you're in the Pacific time zone, you'll be able to view the maximum peak in the wee hours of the night at 2:59 AM PST on Nov 8th (pre-dawn on Tuesday).
Venus opposes Uranus
11/5/22 - 11/7/22

During the 5th - 7th, Uranus’ influence may revamp your status quo around art, beauty, love, friendships, and romantic relationships. Explore ways to re-invigorate your relationships and access a download to spruce up your freedom of expression for doing the things you love. Are you seeking more excitement and creativity in these areas of your life?

November 5th may be a day where you are engaged in dynamic socializing, connecting with others, and showing up with more of your unique self. You may also hang up that fun art piece that showcases your creative side that you’ve been holding back on. On the relationship side, there could be conversations about wanting to renew or shake up some aspect of your relationship. One of you might be bored with your typical everyday relationship patterns. This brief period can catalyze a spark of change in your bearing for how you express your love and creativity.
Picture
Venus Squares Saturn
11//6/22 - 11/8/22

Venus will come into a difficult square aspect with Saturn and brings a serious quality around needing to change things that are not feeling right in your relationship. This distinct flavor of Venus’ expression overlaps and compliments the Venus opposing Uranus energy described in the last section. As Venus explores relationships and creativity through Uranian freedom of expression, Saturn enters the picture, and you may notice the very restrictions you need to get freed up around. Notice where you are stuck from forward movement with your relationship(s), which could become a source of tension inside yourself from the 6th-8th.

When Venus and Saturn come into play in a square aspect, you’ll either want to work something out or perhaps decide this isn’t the right relationship or pattern of relating for you. The focused energy from Saturn over these couple of days may bring your attention toward making dedicated changes inside yourself.
Full Moon Taurus 3:02 AM, PST
Total Lunar Eclipse 2:59 AM, PST
Mercury opposes Uranus

11/8/22

November 8th is a packed day with a Full Moon in Taurus and a Total Lunar Eclipse. At the same time as the eclipsing full Moon,  the Moon will also be joining its energy up with the planet Uranus. Both will oppose Mercury in Scorpio, the planet ruling our thoughts and communications.
Picture

When the Moon is Full, it means the Sun and Moon are in opposite positions and signs in the sky. Just as the Sun is setting on the Western horizon, the glorious Full Moon will rise on the Eastern horizon. Total Lunar Eclipses occur on Full Moons, when the Earth orbits directly between the Sun and Moon, and the Earth's shadow falls upon the moon, darkening the Sun’s reflected light. You can watch this eclipse in the Pacific time zone. Here are the eclipse times for those feeling motivated to be out of bed in the wee hours as Monday night becomes Tuesday morning: the partial eclipse begins at 1:09 am PST, the maximum eclipse occurs at 2:59 am PST, the partial eclipse ends at 4:49 am PST. If you’re feeling up for such lunacy, ritual, sky-watching, or what-have-you, hopefully, you will have a clear sky to see or at least a suitable break in the clouds.

November 8th is a day to pay attention to and notice what’s happening in your emotional body. The Moon reflects our emotions, and when it’s Full in the sky, we can be more open to what feelings are hovering below the surface. The Scorpio Sun energy of this season can naturally take us deep inside ourselves, and the Taurus Moon can provide a stable ground for whatever arises. However, as the Moon joins its energy with the unstable and erratic energy of Uranus, things can potentially get a little unruly. Taurus is a grounded Earth sign with a fixed and stubborn quality. Therefore, whatever comes up can occur suddenly and with a relentless force.

Uranus connects us to find freedom in our lives, and when it joins the moon, this can be related to seeking emotional freedom. What situations in your life have you felt held down in unhealthy emotional patterns? The nature of Uranus is to feel the urge to break free; in a moment, things can change suddenly. Add the Moon and Uranus energy to the total Lunar Eclipse, and you have the potential to release long-standing emotional patterns that have kept you from indeed being in unity with your present life with emotional coherence.

With the Moon and Uranus in opposition to Mercury, this involves communication with others. It can also be a time to notice what you’re not communicating to another. With Uranus’s strength, you suddenly say what you’ve been holding back.

Lunar Eclipses may not bring a change at the moment, but they can create an opening for change that can come weeks to months after the Eclipse. Notice what changes are taking place inside your emotional world and how this relates to things you need to communicate to others or a significant person in your life. A Scorpio Sun and Mercury can bring it all to the surface.

November 8th is an opportune time to reflect on your emotional body and explore ways to shift patterns that feel unhealthy. What doesn’t come out of conscious effort can bring eruptions from your unconscious. Remember, whatever comes up is helping your feelings be more accessible so you can become more emotionally whole.  Allow the Taurus Full Moon to help you get grounded with what’s changing.

Picture
Mercury square Saturn
11/9/22 - 9/11/22

Following in the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse conjunction Uranus and opposing Mercury energy mentioned above, we will have Mercury making a challenging Square aspect to Saturn. You may find yourself coming out of the Full Moon energy with more focused layers around your thought processes and how you communicate with others. With Saturn’s influence, you may be in thinking patterns and communications that feel more frustrating and restrictive. Take time to explore this; it will allow you to see more strongly where you hold yourself back from saying what’s on your mind.

Saturn can often have things feeling harder than they are, creating more pessimism inside of yourself. Because Saturn is coming in connection with Mercury, your mind may run into more blocks with thought patterns that can feel hindering. If you notice this happening to you on the 9th, I recommend becoming more conscious of the thought patterns you’re having. Are they holding you back from expressing yourself to others? With Mercury squaring Saturn, these aspects around your thoughts and communications get louder and point to what patterns inside yourself require change. Allow any restrictions you’re noticing in your mind to be a place where you can release yourself and shift into healthier communications with yourself and others.

 Harvest & Release

Picture
The second half of October brings us to the threshold of November Autumn’s full depth and glory.  As the leaves fall ~  what needs releasing?  What new awareness is emerging?  With Saturn going direct and Mars going into retrograde, we explore how we are dancing our lives in relationship with our capacity for advance and retreat. This exploration can touch powerful material as this month Pluto makes contact with Venus and Mercury; our loving and our communication get primed for transformation. All this can carry emotional depths on the New Moon in Scorpio. Get ready for some deepening and growth.
Venus square Pluto
10/19 - 10/22

Venus and Pluto come into a challenging aspect from the 19th through the 22nd. Venus's energy is about relationships, our connection to pleasure, and our callings to create beautiful things. Pluto is about profound transformation: death and rebirth. Although this transit is just a few days long, it's a moment to notice what needs to change and transform your relationship(s). Intense situations or conflicts may arise during this time, pointing towards patterns that require letting go so new healthier ones can emerge. This Venus square Pluto transit can help you notice internal attachments to aspects of your relationships or people in your life that are psychologically unhealthy for you. Bringing these things to consciousness is the first step to metamorphosis and renewing them.
Picture
Saturn goes Direct
10/23/22

Saturn has been in retrograde since early June; on Oct 23rd, it is finally going direct. Since Saturn has been in retrograde for the last five months, the effects could seem slightly more subtle to notice at first. However, you might have felt over these months that it’s been harder to have a certain directness to the forward momentum for accomplishing the more essential things in your life. Saturn slows us down, draws us inward, and can get us to focus on dedicating ourselves to working on goals and building success in our lives. When it’s retrograde, it can feel like it takes us a longer-than-normal amount of time to finally “get there”.

Now that Saturn is moving forward, starting on the 23rd, the things you’ve been slowly progressing towards have access to a stronger forward movement for focus on accomplishment and success over the coming months.

Periods of retrograde planetary motion are well suited to rework the things you’re trying to do in your life, reshuffle your deck and reconfigure your sovereignty towards the suitable bearing for yourself. You might start in one direction on something and realize you have to change course, and that’s okay. This shift may require more work, but it ultimately gets you to a place that feels more appropriate for you. With Saturn, this has much to do with restructuring matters relating to your home, career plans, goals, and whatever supports your life here on Earth. Therefore, in relation to specific things you’re building in your life, with Saturn’s return to direct motion, you may finally start to feel like you’re making clearer headway. It may feel like it’s been a long time coming!

Saturn will be out of its retrograde shadow in early February, indicating the time it might take to witness and feel the accomplishments of these more significant life matters you’ve been working on.

New Moon Scorpio
10/25/22
3:49 AM

On Oct 25th, we will have our monthly lunar reset point with the New Moon in Scorpio. New Moons occur when the Sun and Moon come together in the sky, creating a potent time for expressing the energy of the sign they are in, which will be in Scorpio this month. Scorpio is a water sign and attunes us to the emotional realms. Scorpio’s energy can get us below the surface, digging deep into situations and things in our lives to uncover what’s there. In its highest application,
I see Scorpio’s energy as providing a superpower for transformation.

Just as Scorpio is an emotional sign, the Moon’s energy also connects to us through our emotional bodies. Under the Scorpio New Moon, you may have a more intense emotional response to things, situations, and people.

Suppose you find these emotional states opening up inside you on the 25th, including the day before and after. In that case, I recommend going below the surface of your acute emotional response and seeing what other layers might be activating you. Ask yourself, what needs letting go and transforming into a new higher level of reality?
Mercury Square Pluto
10/27/22 - 10/29/22

Mercury will come into a challenging square with Pluto from the 27th to the 29th, creating an energy pattern that could make it harder to communicate around conflicts without ego/power dynamics getting in the way. If you have important things to say to another, I recommend first noticing what’s happening inside you before engaging. Are you feeling charged or in need of dominating/controlling the situation? Are you in fear of the other overpowering you or the conversation? It would be helpful to allow this Mercury/Pluto transit to do deeper exploration around your communication patterns. If any conflicts arise with others during this time, It would be helpful to notice what needs shifting inside yourself.

It can be a potent time for deep and challenging things requiring assertive communication to demand our attention. If this happens, use the opportunity to get real, get deeper and take ownership of your part in the equation. Blaming others instead of claiming your portion increases conflict. Ask yourself what your role is in any communication.
Mars goes retrograde
10/30/22 - 1/11/23

Mars is the warrior planet that motivates you towards movement and taking action on the things you want to do in your day, week, month, year, and life. When it goes retrograde on the 30th, it can slow your motivation, energy,  and action down. As we move towards the late autumn and the winter months, while Mars is in retrograde, It can be helpful to flow with the spiraling inward rhythm of the season.

We witness in nature this time of year that most plants and trees are shedding and shifting their energy internally toward their roots and away from budding and growing out from their branches. We can also be similar in how we expend our energy. Allow this Mars retrograde period to help you downshift from all the outward busyness of your life and take more time to be in a slower-paced internal space. Mars will be in retrograde until January 11th. Notice if you don’t have the energy to move as quickly as you’d like, especially with the expectations of the holiday season approaching. I recommend just flowing with it and seeing what feels most nourishing to you with how you spend your time. There is no need to push yourself; just be in the flow and look out to see that nature is doing the same and all is ok!  Like the trees this season, let the inward time be for your strengthening.
