Welcome, Growing Light!  This year on March 20 we celebrate the Spring Equinox! The sun enters Aries on Spring Equinox, light and dark are equal, and we begin to move into longer sunnier days! As the warmth and light are growing, it feels like a special time for kicking up heels and feeling life moving forward after this winter and after these last two years. Full Moon in Virgo 3/18/22 12:17 AM PST March 18th brings the Full Moon in Virgo. When the Moon is full, it is in the opposite sign (180˚) from where the Sun is currently (Pisces). With seeing the full reflective light from the Sun, the Moon is in its most illuminated state. The Moon is connected to our emotional body, which is why things tend to be more emotional around Full Moons - when the moon beams are fully shining, illuminating our feelings. Virgo is an Earth sign - organized, structured, goal-oriented, creating the “perfect plan”. There can also be worry energy associated with Virgo, needing everything to go accordingly. Under this Virgo Full Moon, it may feel nourishing to create some planning intentions. In addition, Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, is in Pisces this month. With both Mercury and the Sun in Pisces, a watery and more dreamy quality is present and you may need to include how your intuition and instincts are feeling about the plans and modify them accordingly. This Virgo energy can also offer you an anchor for groundedness with the Piscean energy we’ve been swimming around in all month. As you move through this month’s Full Moon on March 18th, tune in and see how you can seek more balance between the need to flow and the need to follow the plan perfectly. See what intentions you need to make and maintain, and what you want to release. How do you want to reign in your energies and get organized? How are you in alignment with the greater plan beyond your will? Venus squares Uranus 3/18/22 - 3/22/22 Strongest 19th With Venus making a hard square aspect, you may be noticing a need for more freedom or excitement in your relationship(s) and or in your personal creative pursuits. If there are ways in which you feel held back, then it can come as a sudden urge towards greater freedom and self-expression. In relationships, this could the urge to break away from old patterns of relating or even break up from the relationship. Before doing anything impulsive, I recommend seeing if there are ways to create new pathways in your relationship for greater self-expression and freedom that feel in alignment with what your emerging needs are. Squares between planets are most characterized by an internal process we are having with the outside world. Therefore, find ways to shift your internal patterns with how you are relating to your relationship(s) before externalizing your process and making it about your partner. What are your needs? How might you explore expressing yourself more freely and fully? Is there something you have been holding back that requires freedom of expression so you can feel more whole? What would it look like to be yourself more powerfully in your relationship(s)? Sometimes we think we have to end something to make the shifts, but do you really have to? See how you can bring new qualities of excitement into your relationship if you seem to be stuck in routines with your partner(s) that feel stagnant or boring. Ask yourself where you are not feeling free to be you or free to move about the way you’d like to. See where you can get out of your own ruts and make a shift in how you get these needs met for yourself. Most importantly, have some fun exploring this liberating energy as it moves through your creativity and relationships!  Spring Equinox Sun enters Aries 3/20/22 8:33 AM, PST Spring (Vernal) Equinox relates to the halfway point between both winter and summer solstices and is when day and night are equal and daylight will begin to grow larger than the darkness as we head towards summer. This is also the time when the Sun enters Aries, and the zodiac round begins a new cycle of the Sun transiting through all the signs for another year’s time. After the last month of swimming your soul around in the Piscean sea, we begin anew with the Ram (Aries), the “child of the zodiac”. Like a child exploring the world around, the Aries's energy is passionate and fiery, in awe of everything around. Headstrong and fearless, Aries is a warrior, trailblazing paths others may not dare on their own.  As March 20th comes, tune into this Aries Springtime energy. Ask: Do you need to be more daring? What are you in awe of? Where inside you do your passions live? Do they need to be re-ignited? What do you want to create as you head into Spring? See if you can tap into this energy and how you can explore the world around you with fresh eyes. As Aries arrives, light a fire! Light up your movement around whatever has become stagnant through the Winter months so you can make room for new and exciting things coming into your life. Welcome Spring! Mars squares Uranus 3/20/22 - 3/26/22 Strongest 22nd As the Spring Equinox arrives and the Sun is moving into Aries energy, Mars begins to make a hard square aspect with Uranus. Mars, naturally ruled by Aries, is the action-oriented, go out and “make it happen”, planet. Uranus is about change and evolution: breaking out of habits, creating the new, and having the freedom to move about and be who you are. When Uranus is involved in the planetary configuration, things can also change suddenly in your life to create pathways for freedom and or more self-expression. Mars square Uranus is about feeling the urge and making the move to free yourself from restrictions and blocks you feel in your life. This comes in perfect timing with the Spring Equinox as it helps break you out of places you’ve been feeling stuck so you can align more with what’s relevant to you in the now as well as any new things coming in. The quality of this transit between Mars/Will and Uranus/Evolution is driven by the hard aspect of the square between them. The dynamics of the square can give rise to a sudden or rash burst of energy to create change or break away from restrictions. Feelings that have been held at bay, such as impatience or frustration by things not changing or moving fast enough can surface and need expression. Sometimes the Mars square Uranus energy can create the impulse to move quickly to free yourself from something, which can result in accidents. If you start to feel increasingly frustrated or impatient during the week of March 20th - 26th, then I recommend being conscious of this energy. You may need to find the right outlet to express this rapid intensity so that you don’t back out the driveway and run into your neighbor’s car under the spell of the unconscious raw energy of Mars and Uranus at a Square. Look to craft a balance between finding the right way to let this energy move through and slowing yourself down. Trust the process, knowing things will work their way out through all the transformations that this time is bringing. As you take in all the changes that March brings keep the majestic power of Spring's promise of rebirth as your focus.. Look to the trees and wildflowers. Welcome to March!  In the first weeks of March, we have a New Moon in Pisces bringing an opportunity for deep soulful renewal. A few days later Mercury enters Pisces providing a period of enhanced receptivity for cultivating more subtle states of the higher mind and refined consciousness. Mars and Venus will be conjoining Pluto, as Pluto moves through the peak of the United States’ Pluto Return cycle Dynamic and powerful changes are in play; allow your mental processing of this period to benefit from your intuition and capacity to trust in the larger forces. Pluto Return Continues 1st of 4 waves 2/3/22 - 3/10/2  Image of Pluto's surface Pluto’s return in the United States birth chart (Sibley chart) will be active through 2023 and comes in 4 waves. We are currently in the first of these 4 waves until March 10th. Pay special attention to the themes presently occurring in our national conversion during this first wave. These national issues and agendas are the dynamics that will continue to be worked on over these next couple of years, creating the changes needed in this cycle of Pluto return for the transformation in the United States. Globally, we see Russia’s aggression again looming largely and calling into focus the long-standing issues about the United States’ larger role in the world. Nationally, here at home, we see an ending of mask mandates as we explore our responses to this pandemic and the divisive controversies about governance and public health. While ongoing headlines are appearing about climate change, public shootings and legal cases about race and police violence, the January 6th riots, abortion access law, and the court attempts to adjudicate numerous legal controversies abound the last presidency are all appearing daily. The second wave will peak this summer. The events unfolding now are foreshadowing the patterns that will emerge during the summer Pluto Return Peak. Planet Mars in an unusual color with sunlight elements of this image, furnished by NASA Venus, Mars, Pluto Conjunction in Capricorn March 1-5 Strongest 3/3/22 As we take a look at the Pluto Return energy and bring to light what needs transforming both collectively and in our personal lives, Mars will be coming into conjunction, joining its energy with Pluto during the first week of March. Having Mars in the mix creates potent, hot energy to catalyze and cook up the events that are unfolding over the long process of Pluto’s return cycle. When Mars moves into an aspect of alignment with slower-moving planets, the forces set in motion by the slower planets get activated. Mars can become a timer to trigger something to happen. In other words, when things are brewing, Mars can work to activate that energy to further its movement to open up and get it moving. A significant event may occur to initiate action on whatever process is being activated. This trigger, by Mars, of precipitating the long process of Pluto’s karmic influences to move forward can happen on many levels at once: globally, nationally, and personally. The strongest day of this Mars/Pluto conjunction energy is March 3rd. Therefore, if you personally have things brewing under the surface, this might be a day when an event causes things to open up for you. This could also prime the energy to push forward the narrative and unleash powerful forces in geopolitical events. It’s important to note that Venus is also coming up to join with both Mars and Pluto on March 3rd, which softens this energy. Therefore, it’s possible that more ease or peace can be added to whatever the situations are. Venus (along with Jupiter) is known as a “greater benefic” amongst the planets and is connected more to the beauty and loving aspects of life. Therefore, whatever might get activated, things may be able to move in a more harmonious and peaceful direction with Venus in the mix. As above, so below. As powerful dramatic forces are moving across the world, so powerful dynamics are in motion amidst the planetary signatures.  New Moon Pisces 3/2/22 9:35 AM PST On March 2nd, we will have a New Moon in Pisces. New Moons are created when the Sun joins together with the Moon in the sky under the same sign. This creates a dark night as the Moon sets in conjunction with the Sun. New Moons are considered the beginning of a 29.5 day Moon phase cycle. Therefore, one way to think of New Moons is to see it as a monthly new beginning and reset point for yourself, emphasizing the energy of the sign the Sun and Moon are in. Pisces is a water sign, enhancing the level of emotional sensitivities and psychic connection to those under its influence. Pisces is also considered the last sign in the zodiac round before starting over again in Aries. As it is the last sign, we can understand Pisces as holding the most evolved characteristics, getting into what it means for a soul to be living here in a physical body on this earth. What comes with the Pisces energy is an ability to feel the energy around (like a fish in the sea) and be psychically in tune with it as well as flow with it. Since there is an ability to merge with the energy around like swimming in a giant sea, Pisces can often experience a lack of boundaries between self and others. Therefore, it's important to allow this flowing feeling of life and to appropriately remain rooted in yourself as you allow for the gifts of the Piscean New Moon for dissolving the limits of our smaller sense of self. We are so much vaster and deeper than we usually are able to be present for; our focus on daily doings tends to veil the grandeur of our interior majesty. This New Moon in Pisces energy is a good time to take a look at your life and see where you can bring in more flow with the energies around, and on the other side, see where you may need to create more boundaries if you’re too swept up with all the deep energies that surround you. Mercury enters Pisces 3/9/22 Speaking of Pisces - Mercury, the planet that influences our thoughts, mental processes, and communications, will be moving into Pisces on March 9th for the following 19 days. With Mercury in Pisces, your mind might seem less structured around how you are organizing your day during this time. There’s a need to be more in a flow than following a laid-out plan. Although making plans is essential, the ideal mental processing style with Mercury in Pisces may find you less attached to how plans are executed. Pisces reminds us to let go and allow for the way things want to flow to emerge. You may discover this way of allowing creates greater alignment for yourself with how things end up working out than the way you originally thought possible. In Addition, Mercury in Pisces can help your mind to receive more psychic information when it comes to making decisions. You might find yourself being able to sense what the right choice is for yourself without having all the information to know rationally why it’s the right choice.
