April's Powers bring Life to Flower
These next two weeks come with a mixture of feeling both the expansion and contraction in your life. This is a time to focus your energy on building important and supportive structures as well as stretching out to see more possibilities for soul growth.
Mars Conjunct Saturn
April 1-9 - strongest April 4
During the first week of April, Mars and Saturn are joining up (making a conjunction) in Aquarius urging you to have more focused energy during this time. Mars is the planet that represents your movement towards action and taking the steps towards doing the things you want to be doing. It’s the driving force in you for making things happen. Saturn is the force inside you that forms the matrix for how you structure your life so you'll have what we need to build and accomplish what’s important to you. Saturn wants to also narrow your focus and organize your life in such a way that you can keep working towards creating stability and success in life. Stability and success, by the way, come in many forms and I will leave that up to your own interpretation here.
When Saturn and Mars come together, your energy may feel lower, as the heat and drive of Mars are slowed down and cooled by the arrival of Saturn’s sober, weighty organizing principle. However, I invite you to take a more nuanced approach to what your energy needs are calling forth in you as this happens…
If you start off the month with too many irons in the fire, Saturn’s energy on Mars can seem restricting and you may start to feel exhausted by doing all the activities you’re used to doing. However, notice what things aren’t fatiguing you as you put your energy towards them. Is there a feeling or sense in you that says “this is all I want to be doing right now”? If so, this is your wisdom body narrowing your focus to help direct you and your energy towards accomplishing the most important things right now. I recommend following this pathway as Saturn takes away all the “noise” or “scatterings” of activity you may have going on so you can focus on being successful towards building a necessary structure in your life right now.
The best way to navigate this planetary transit during April 1st and 9th is to notice if you’re feeling restricted in any way during this time and then redirect your focus towards what is calling you to work on by noticing what you have the energy for. Avoid getting caught up in spinning the things that feel hard to put your energy towards. This will guide you towards making meaningful accomplishments.
The energy of this transit is the strongest on April 4th and then will start to fade.
This is a great period for cultivating your will to feel and know what domains of your life are most important to take action around at this time. Because this conjunction is occurring in Aquarius, the most successful way to navigate this time is to find the focused work that feels like its direction is moving you into freedom and joy and true self-expression.
Mercury Square Pluto
April 9-11 - strongest April 10th
From April 9th through the 11th, Mercury is going to be in a challenging aspect (Square) with Pluto. Mercury rules your thoughts, mental processes, communications, and . . . the expression of your true voice with others (and with yourself). Pluto’s energy creates deep transformations within your psyche as well as in your life. There’s a powerful force that comes with Pluto’s energy that allows for such transformations to occur in order for you to keep evolving in your life.
When Mercury and Pluto square each other, you may experience your thoughts and communications with others becoming more intense. Square aspects between planets can create conflict, but the true conflict is within yourself. Are you saying what you want to say? Are you speaking up for yourself? Does your voice dominate others or are others’ voices overpowering you? What’s your internal process around these types of dynamics? As Pluto comes into Square with Mercury this aspect can reveal deeper undercurrents to your thought processes in order for you to see what needs transforming. You may uncover a habitual way of thinking or communicating that you’re used to may not be working for you anymore and is in need of a shift.
Mercury moves quickly, the energy of this transit is short-lived (3 days long). Allow the situations that arise during this time, related to the dynamics mentioned here, to offer you insights into your patterns of communicating and see where you are being called to grow into new ways of relating in this season of your journey.
Jupiter conjunct Neptune
April 3 - 26 - strongest 9-12
During most of the month, Jupiter and Neptune will be joining (conjunct) bringing their energies together in Pisces. This is a powerful tonic for faith. Faith is not some abstract quality we have, it’s a state of trust in the reality of being, in the universe. This conjunction can create a more dreamy, and positive - “everything is working out” quality to our feelings and outlook. Jupiter (often positively) expands the energy of whatever it is touching upon and Neptune has us connecting with ourselves on a more soul, spiritual level and seeing beyond our earthly matters. Whenever Jupiter is involved, the influence provides an extra level of faith in things moving towards a positive direction and outcome.
Although this energy is active most of the month, it will be the strongest from the 9th - 12th. During the month and especially April 9-12th, you may start to feel more hopeful about your life situations that have been challenging. You may find yourself being able to naturally tune into a larger perspective that helps you see the meaning and find your alignment around particular difficult and or stuck situations.
One thing I recommend looking out for during this time is to make sure you are not approaching situations with too much blind faith. Stay realistic with your life situations while sailing the winds of these overarching positive feelings from Jupiter and Neptune’s conjoined influences.
Mars enters Pisces
April 14th until May 24th
Along with Jupiter and Neptune riding together most of the month in Pisces, on April 14th, action-oriented Mars will join this Planetary Pisces Party for roughly 5 weeks. Mars is our will to take action. Pisces creates a more flowy dynamic where there’s a greater allowance to let go and not be so attached to checking off all the to-dos on your list. Mars in Pisces can slow our energies down and you may find yourself more inclined to follow how the day is flowing, which might be different than what you initially set off to do. Pisces gets us in tune with our psychic and empathic senses and doing what feeds our soul.
If you start to feel mid-month like your energy is lower than usual, it could be that your soul is calling you to explore a different direction than the established patterns of your habitual hustle and bustle. We typically create patterns to bring structure to our lives and let them support us, which is necessary. Mars (the will) in Pisces (the watery oneness of being), allows an opportunity to deepen our relationship with what we will into being in our lives. Follow your inner knowing on what feels best and right in approaching your day ~ it may guide you towards a more flowy and less stressful way of being. In the process, you may learn something about how to refine your game plan.
If you are finding your energy slows down during this Mars in Pisces time period, it will more than likely pick up again when Mars moves into Aries in late May.
